Amare will drop a huge F U on this team if he's not back next year.

Think about it.. He didn't drop an FU.. If not for him we wouldn't even have seen the playoffs

Still waiting on Joe Johnson's FU.

Oh, and remember the playoff run in 2006? We made it through without Amare or Kurt Thomas, and beat LA--both teams!

Thats playoffs dude!! I know its playoffs that matters but the without the regular season there is no playoffs. Everything matters in the regular season. If no amare in regular season we won't make the playoffs.. What happened when he had that eye injury? No playoffs.

We can't take the playoffs for granted like we'll make it every year.

To the contrary, history shows that the Suns are generally a playoff team during the season and folder during the playoffs.

For most of the past forty-two years of history.

This year it was finding that Robin Lopez alongside Amar'e made the Suns a winner and then forgetting it building to Game 6.

Giving most of the minutes at Center to Frye opened the floor on offense (until his 3-point shooting hovered between mediocre and OK).

It ruined the rest of our game.

Defense beats offense in the post-season and Alvin Gentry (whom I was raving about a week ago) seemed to forget it.

Live or die with the soft Channing Frye playing Center -- we died.

While Lopez, with all his exuberance and toughness sat on the bench.

he picked up two fouls within 2 minutes of the first quarter last night... where else was he going to be? And he was just atrocious in the third quarter as well... not to mention how atrocious on O and D he was in Game 5. Only reason we got back into EITHER game after Robin stunk up the court in the first/third quarters of Games 5/6 was because Fry actually played decent ball... on both sides of the court, avergaing 14/11 in Games 5/6.

Barely made it by two mediocre teams and even then were not a real serious contender.

This team is better with Amare than without, I don't think anybody can argue that.

In all fairness, we got hosed with the refs in game 4 against LA back in 2006, and the Clippers at the time were definitely a tough contender. This team made it through 6 games against the Mavs. I guess you start to run out of fuel after playing 14 playoff games before getting to the WCF. Bench was short, and don't forget Raja Bell sustained the calf injury late in the series against Dallas.

Bottom line is, we had some of the worst mismatches because of the small line up--who was Shawn Marion guarding, Odom, Kobe, and Dirk? That's one heck of a mix to ask from a small forward.

We made the playoffs without him that year.

Exactly, Amare played in only one or two games that season.

And don't forget the whole Kurt Thomas deal. The whole point of bringing him in from NY was to remove Amare from center. Guess who played center during the season? Boris Diaw!

This all highlights the positive impact that Steve Nash has on everyone else's game. Diaw had a great season when he came to Phoenix, so did Bell. Every misfit this team picked up and threw on the court with Nash all of the sudden looked like a great contributer.

What was really disappointing was the FU he dropped on the fans. Didn't even bother to congratulate the Laker players either; just walked off the court.

Nash, at least, acknowledged the fans.

He was too busy blocking out to shake hands and wave to the crowd.
