Seeing as FA will come before the draft and it plays a pivotal role in shaping the draft, thoughts on what to do in FA (top 3 FA wish list)? Say we are in the following scenario: we have signed our key FA to reasonable deals and have franchised Jones, Palmer has taken a pay cut to $12M and we have lost Campbell in FA. Mine would be:

ILB Zach Brown - Even with Sio Moore re-signed I look at him as quality depth and Brown would be a hell of an upgrade over Minter. He is a 3 down LB still in his prime (28 next year) and probably won't break the bank.

OG Larry Watford -Mountain of a man who would make a good pairing on the right side of the line next to Veldheer if Humphries stays at LT.

WR Terrelle Pryor - Big, possession type receiver who can compliment the other WR's on the roster.

All the best FAs are on our own team. CC, Jefferson and Chandler. In terms of importance, I would say CC is #1, Chan #2 (most likely tag), Jefferson #3 only because hes replaceable in the draft.

Otherwise I dont see any outside FA's who are appealing or worth the cost

I am with you on Watford, and Pryor.

I would rather try to get Dont'a Hightower as a ILBer.

I would also think about kicking the tires on Dre Kirkpatrick, or Darius Butler at CB.

The only trouble is a lot of these players are never going to see free agency.

Sounds like Jamaal Charles will be cut. Would love him to backup DJ if healthy. Watford and Pryor would be great too.

John Clayton of ESPN has 4 Cardinals ranked in his top 50:

4. Chandler Jones
10. Calais Campbell
28. Tony Jefferson
41. Kevin Minter

He predicts that the Cardinals won't be able to afford Jones and Campbell and Jones is already a lock for the f-tag.

He says that whoever plays safety for the Cardinals seems to play well---and that Jefferson had a great year. He says Minter is a good linebacker who the Cardinals need to re-sign.

I guess this clayton doesnt watch cardinals games
Minter is not any good to play ILB in 3/4 defense, lack mobility to drop in coverage and is not the thumper we thought

I would love for the Cardinals to sign an interior offensive lineman. Looks like the OG market is better than the OC unless I missed somebody. Cordarrel Patterson depending on the price would interest me too!

Read today that the Rams my be inclined to let Trumain Johnson go. If this happens I would like to see the Cards go after him. Two good corners with a healthy Badger and re-sign Swearringer if $ are right and that is a start to get back to the No Fly Zone.

I agree about Watford or Zietler at right guard. I think DJ would love to run behind that line. Imagine Iupati pulling behind a right side of Watford/Zietler and Veldeer.

Can you post a link about the Rams letting Trumain Johnson go?

What i have read is that they don't want to f-tag him again, but that they want to lock him up on a long-term deal. Has that changed?

I think you start with our own FAs and then go from there.

A RG is going to cost, and there are some decent OG options in the draft if you don't want so much money invested in the offensive line.

CB is deep in this draft. If you sign a FA CB, you are cutting Bethel or getting him to take a huge paycut. I also don't know that we want to spend another 7+ mil per year on a CB or S.

Obviously, DE if Campbell isn't re-signed, but I don't love the options.

ILB is not a position that I love to spend big money on. Hightower would be a great addition, but we will have to spend to get him, and I don't know where he fits among ILBs in the league.

The problem with this thinking is that it could always be worse. Last year the board ripped to shreds Jerraud Powers and Rashad Johnson, saying to get rid of them and they were horrible. This year's defense missed them badly -- especially Powers. The replacement players were much worse.

If we fill Minter's spot with a player like Reuben Foster, I am all for it. But Minter has played better each year. If he comes back on a reasonable deal, I wouldn't mind him at all. I certainly do not want to let him go without a replacement identified and signed. You know what you get with Minter. I do think that he hits hard and plays well in the run game. He is not a coverage LB. If the coaching/management continues to use him that way -- he will get burned and that is on them.

I predict there will be no big money signing of other teams free agents. There's no money.

Yep. I'm really not looking forward to the first week of free agency: Only losses.

I think Keim approaches players about restructuring if he needs space. I honestly believe Campbell is going to price himself out of ARZ so that should free up some money.

You can sign a guy for 5 years, 40 mil with 10 guaranteed, and have it count $3 mil towards the 2017 cap. I'm not saying they are going to do this, but it can be done if they really want a guy.

I hope the cards go CB in FA and draft the ILB in the draft at 13 and the C/G from LSU in the 2nd.

The Bills CB or Johnson from the Rams in that order either on is an huge upgrade at CB. Resign Cooper for depth and draft a CB in the 4th or 5th rd.

Adoree Jackson is the only CB i would draft in the 1st rd that i have saw this year.
