Boy the Falcons sure work fast. I wonder how many interviews they had to sit trough?
Arthur Blank comes across as a pretty bright guy and sharp executive.

It wouldn't surprise me if Blank, Rich McKay and the Falcons front office have had a HC search policy and continually updated short list in place for quite some time as SOP (even before Mora made those unfortunate Wash State remarks) because "you never know" and that's what smart managements do.

All Blank and McKay had to do was pick the #1 guy on their list.

Petrino was an outstanding college coach at Louisvile...he runs a wide open, innovative offense...makes one wonder if he can make a successful transistion to the NFL...or will he hit major sangs the way Steve Spurrier did?

This should likely mean that QB Brian Brohm will enter the draft now...it could be interesting to see whether the Falcons try to move up to draft Brohm. (Could the Cardinals at #5 be involved in a trade down with ATL?)

Don't be shocked if the Falcons try to trade Mike Vick...there are many in the organization who are very high on Matt Schaub...

I think a college coach can make the transition. Remember Don Coryell? We hired a high school coach at Arkansas this year to be the offensive coordinator. I think he was named the OC of the year in the SEC. Other teams are already looking at this young man. He brought the most innovative plays to Arkansas I have ever seen. Some of the pro teams are trying some of his formations this year. Every great coach had to start somewhere. Maybe Atlanta just hired a superstar coach?

Maybe Petrino can get Vick to switch positions. Imagine Vick in a Tery Metcalf or Reggie Bush roll. This is what Ted Ginn Jr. will have to do.

Michael Vick can be a $140m scat back. He is flat ass scary in an open field. Then Arthur Blank can watch his toy up close and personal from his sideline perch.

Isn't this Arthur Blank's 4th coach in 6 years? I'm too lazy to check it but it seems to me Blank has Dan Snyder's disease.
