The Atlanta Falcons have added more depth to their secondary, signing veteran cornerback Keith Taylor on Friday afternoon. The former Kansas City Chiefs defensive back appeared in 11 games last season, primarily contributing on special teams.

Taylor, 26, was selected by the Carolina Panthers in the fifth round of the 2021 NFL draft. The former Washington standout has appeared in 45 career games, recording 72 tackles (58 solo) and six passes defended over the last four seasons.

Atlanta re-signed cornerback Mike Hughes and added veteran Mike Ford in free agency. Now Taylor gives the team more depth behind A.J. Terrell and Hughes. Since the Falcons have not re-signed Dee Alford, Taylor's signing could indicate that they're going in a different direction.

Edge rusher Leonard Floyd, linebacker Divine Deablo and wide receiver KhaDarel Hodge were among the team's most notable signings during Week 1 of NFL free agency. Atlanta has yet to re-sign EDGE Matthew Judon, safety Justin Simmons and linebacker Lorenzo Carter.
