Falcons Sign LB Ike Reese
FLOWERY BRANCH, Georgia - Linebacker Ike Reese's pursuit of a Super Bowl ring will resume in Atlanta.

On Wednesday, the Atlanta Falcons signed Reese, who has spent the last seven seasons with the defending NFC champion Philadelphia Eagles, to a four-year contract.

Financial terms were not disclosed.

One of the NFL's best special teams players, Reese garnered Pro Bowl honors for the first time in his career last season. He recorded 33 special teams tackles.

Reese also saw time at linebacker and recorded 36 tackles, one sack and the first two interceptions of his career.

Reese picked off Daunte Culpepper for his first career postseason interception, helping the Eagles advance to their fourth consecutive NFC championship game with a 27-14 victory over the Minnesota Vikings. Philadelphia went on to defeat Atlanta, 27-10, before falling to the New England Patriots, 24-21, in its first Super Bowl appearance since 1981.

A 1998 fifth-round pick of the Eagles, Reese has played 112 games in his career, collecting 210 tackles and 6 1/2 sacks

I'm hoping something will get done.

Hartwell NEEDS to drop his price, as it is obvious that he overpriced himself.

Now who is in the running?

Was Atlanta ever even in the running?

Anyways the longer Hartwell waits to more and more teams wont have money to spend, lowering his price every day.

I thought it was just us and Seattle?

Hartwell is a pipe dream now especially with us trying to extend Boldin. We just simply dont have enough cap room or enough player that remain that are cuttable to clear up enough space.

The Bengals cap situation isn't any better than ours right now. I think Hartwell is not going to be very happy.

Vikings remain cap rich and could pick up Hartwell just because he's a good player who happens to be out there.

Well after the Hawks signing of Mili I believe they have the same amount of cap as us as well.

yo fellas john clayton was on espn radio a little while ago and he said the only team in talks with hartwell are the cards. he said the seahawks have expressed interest but there has been no visit set up as of tonight.he also said that the bengals have only gone as far as contacting hartwell agent to let him know they are interested. clayton said hartwell's first choice is the cardinals without a doubt but he is obviously going to have to come down to around the 7 to 8 mil range as far as a bonus goes and probably accept that being spread out over a couple of years....keep hope alive.

I don't get the articles about how we have no cap space left.

I keep reading that we can't afford Hartwell because of the other FA signings.

But won't we have some money available if/when LJ gets traded?

We have money right now to sign Hartwell, and we may have more depending on how the Okeafer deal is set up of which we dont know yet.

All of the cuts, trades, and the Boldin contract will work out from there.

this was on cincinnati .com

Hartwell, a four-year pro who played for Bengals coach Marvin Lewis in Baltimore when Lewis was Ravens defensive coordinator, is a prime target for the Bengals. The club is trying to arrange a visit
