Falcons Sign LB Ike Reese
FLOWERY BRANCH, Georgia - Linebacker Ike Reese's pursuit of a Super Bowl ring will resume in Atlanta.
On Wednesday, the Atlanta Falcons signed Reese, who has spent the last seven seasons with the defending NFC champion Philadelphia Eagles, to a four-year contract.
Financial terms were not disclosed.
One of the NFL's best special teams players, Reese garnered Pro Bowl honors for the first time in his career last season. He recorded 33 special teams tackles.
Reese also saw time at linebacker and recorded 36 tackles, one sack and the first two interceptions of his career.
Reese picked off Daunte Culpepper for his first career postseason interception, helping the Eagles advance to their fourth consecutive NFC championship game with a 27-14 victory over the Minnesota Vikings. Philadelphia went on to defeat Atlanta, 27-10, before falling to the New England Patriots, 24-21, in its first Super Bowl appearance since 1981.
A 1998 fifth-round pick of the Eagles, Reese has played 112 games in his career, collecting 210 tackles and 6 1/2 sacks
I'm hoping something will get done.
