August 2020
Dear
With the Cardinals regular season opener at San Francisco a little more than two weeks away, we wanted to update you on the status of 2020 home games at State Farm Stadium.
Throughout the offseason we have been in close collaboration with state and local health officials to determine when it may be possible to have fans at Cardinals home games. From the outset, we knew that any decision would be guided by just one thing: the health and safety of our fans.
The good news is that COVID-19 numbers in Arizona have been on a steady decline thanks in large part to the public health guidelines that have been implemented and the diligent efforts of so many throughout the state.
At this time, however, state guidelines do not permit us to host fans at State Farm Stadium. As a result, our first two home games (September 20 vs. Washington and September 27 vs. Detroit) will be closed to the public.
While we would obviously love to start the season in front of the Red Sea, we know this decision is the most responsible one and hopefully contributes to the continued decline of COVID-19 figures in our community.
We will continue to work with state and local officials in the weeks ahead to determine whether we may be in position to host a limited number of fans later in the season. If so, Cardinals Club Seat Members would have the first opportunity to purchase tickets for those games.
We truly appreciate your support and patience as we manage this extraordinary and unprecedented situation.
