We went last year. It was jammed. Enormous lines for everything. When you could figure out what was a line and what was just a mass of human beings trying to figure out where they were supposed to go.

I don't think the organization expected a huge crowd. Hopefully things will be sorted out this year.

One problem last year was the line for kids to get autographs. I just looked at the link and they've changed how they're going to do it. (There must have been a TON of disappointed kids last year. I really felt bad for them.)

Once we got our food we scouted out a place to sit and it was good. Nice chance to get a first look at the team in place with A/C. There seemed to be a lot of first-time fans. (And I suspect people who came for the cheap hot dogs.) But it was the most polite mob scene I'd ever been in. :) Very good-natured crowd.

We'll probably go this year. I've not missed Fan Fest in my 6 whole years as a Cards fan. :D

Just saw this on the list of prohibited items for Cardinals Stadium.

Any item deemed inappropriate or hazardous by stadium security

So how did our offensive line get into the stadium last season?

The stadium is about 10 minutes tops from my house, but I heard such bad things last year that my wife and I probably won't go. It sounded like a hassle and we're old and not that patient.

Yeah, it was out of control. We waited in the heat in a huge line just to get in. When we got to the front, we saw other people just walking in through another entrance. That ticked us off.

It was super crowded and, like Dems said, I don't think they were expecting so many people. If I recall correctly, they ran out of food at one point.

Still, it was great to the see the guys on the field. :)

All that said, I won't go this year (though that's mostly because I just got back from a 15-day trip yesterday and really just want to relax at home).

I just checked the website. It says all 100 level seats will be open (yay) and more food stands will be open (yay). Just doing that eliminates a lot of last year's problems .

I figure on getting there after the gates open, which is what we did last year to eliminate having to wait in line in the heat.

Football!! Yay.
