Just a couple of weeks ago, you never would have thought that Michigan basketball would be hoisting a trophy. However, after a month-plus of struggles, Dusty May got his team right at the right time and the Wolverines surged in Indianapolis, beating Purdue on Friday, Maryland on Saturday, and Wisconsin on Sunday to win the Big Ten Tournament championship.
With May leading the charge, reversing the Wolverines' fortunes after they went 8-24 a year ago, he's the first head coach to win the Big Ten Tournament in his first year.
Social media, of course, exploded in reaction to the big win over the Badgers and the job that May and company did in the first of two tournaments in March. Here are our favorite reactions from fans and media.

For the FIFTH straight year, Michigan has won a Big Ten Championship in either football or men’s basketball.
No other school had more than two straight during that span.

There is only 1 school in the Big 10 that matters. It doesn’t matter the sport. When there is a big game you know Michigan is gonna be in it and you know Michigan is gonna win it. Congrats to the Big 10 champs! The winning never stops for the Kings of the Big 10! #Gobluepic.twitter.com/zfFYph4WZ1

But at least little brother got to kiss their court in front of the champs

What an incredible turnaround in year one by Dusty May. One of the greatest I’ve ever seen. He inherited a literal crater, not a program. He had to rebuild a roster from total scratch. And he wins 25 games and Michigan’s fourth Big Ten Tournament title right out of the gate. https://t.co/NRplfQLEu9

What a stunning and overachieving season for Michigan and head coach Dusty May in year 1 regardless of what happens in the NCAA tournament.

Michigan was on a three-game losing streak to end the regular season.
Its average margin of defeat during that span was 14.3 PPG.
The Wolverines just won the Big Ten Tournament.
Anarchy?
Nope. Just College Basketball.

What fabulous Defense performance against a high scoring Badger team. Wolverines have found their swag and their D. Those kids played their tails off for 3 straight games. Another BIG championship for Michigan. Congratulations to all. They deserved this one!

What a job by Dusty May in his first year taking over and putting together a completely new team. 8-24 last year, last in the Big Ten to Big Ten Tournament Champs. Congrats @umichbballhttps://t.co/O40EupIPh2
