I can't imagine who'd want to drive all the way out to Glendale to not watch a football game, but more power to Michael.

That looks pretty much like what I see @ Allegiant in the VIP areas tons of people in there sitting on all those high top tables and chairs watching the game and not out viewing it with their own eyes… kinda wild. In the NFL I’m sure they’ve proven that it’s a solid business model for making more money or they wouldn’t do it.

It’s crazy to me after being in the club and VIP sections of allegiant stadium. During the rugby and international soccer events. I’m gonna imagine it’s the same for the NFL. But the sheer number of people that are at the stadium and in these huge large bars in the interior part of the stadium. Many many many people sitting at the bar and off to the side in comfy lounge chairs all watching the game on Big screens. Rather than being out watching the actual game. It’s bizarre for sure but a crap ton of people do it. At Gokden Knights games up here at t-mobile if you look at tickets? There’s an entire section of tickets available for like $40-$60 a person. But it warns you that you have no view of the ice that you’re in some lounge and can only watch it on TV. Yet they still sell them

Oh they are displacing fans. That's sad and trash. I'm sure all those longtime fans who have moved assiduously over the years down and to the 50 are going to be stoked when they're told.

Just out of curiosity how can you tell that rendering appears to have access to the lounge through stairwells and normal seating around it? Am I missing something?

From the article:

“This underground experience is accessible only to an exclusive set of ticket holders, with entry granted solely through one of the 500 premium seats positioned at midfield.”

Seems to me the seats at the 50 will be new “premium” seats to buy that will be the only ones to grant access. I don’t think they’re just granting access to people who already have those seats.

It looks like they pulled essentially two sections of normal seating out to make room for bigger VIP seats and the stairwells. This is ground-level, so I assume they're cutting in to get the stairways down to the Casa Roja.

I didn't go to the stadium last year, but I assumed the VIP seating was of the on-field variety, not like this.

call me when they have a 420 section

laugh if you will but lots of fans don't want to drink alcohol - especially with cowboy and seahawk fans all around

so many states have legalized marijuana - vapes are the preferred public for if consumption as there is no smoke or risk of any contact high - one well ventilated section would bring in ticket sales guaranfreakinteed

the suns underground bar is pretty cool and makes halftime or quarterly drink runs way more enjoyable.... short lines, really cool environment... I would never stay down there and watch the game, although some people might.

If you're in these seats at the Cardinals game, you might save 10 mins on every bathroom or drink run.

Another distraction to take the attention away from the product on the field.

Reminds me of the Diamondback Avent Home Plate Club located under the seats directly behind home plate. I think that is what they call it these days. I've been down there before just to check it out when I was given seats that my Work owns.

There are people who like "Exclusive" experiences especially when entertaining guests. Makes little sense to me because when I goto a game I want to watch the game. But to each their own.

Maybe I'm just too broke to understand but why would you watch a whole game at the bar instead of in the stands?

No you sit at the 50 yard line and can head down to the exclusive bar if you want a drink. You don't sit there the entire game. Most will use it pre game or between quarters is my guess.

I just think this sucks that they’re going to displace loooooong time fans who have suffered through this for people they’re hoping to make more money off who will want to be somewhere other than their incredible seats, during the game.

It’s just a middle finger to those people who have had those seats forever and considering how good those seats are, you’re probably talking about shafting season tickets who have been there for a decade.

For sure. It's catering to high end ticket owners who probably care more about sealing a business deal than going to a Cardinals game. It's a sign of the times really.

Really? It’s more a sign of a franchise run with only one thing in mind… squeezing every last drop of money they can, damn whatever product they put on the field… while again, sitting on over 20 million dollars in cap room.

Not every franchise operates in the pathetic way this one does in the stands or on the field.

Season tickets for Casa Roja start at the affordable $15,000 per seat. Sounds reasonable to me. :sarcasm:

*not defending Bidwill*

Devil's advocate though - we complain that the team has no revenue streams to help with the financial impacts for team building. When they do find some creative ways, we blast them for it.

I get it, if they could put a winner on the field, then this would not be an issue, but with the piss poor history of the B family, they deserve any flack that they get.

For me it was never about a winner on the field every year. I was a season ticket holder for 23 years. 95% of those years were miserable seasons for the Cardinals but I still went to pretty much every game.

Nowadays the game day experience for me is no longer enjoyable. Maybe I'm just old and jaded but the value for the money of going to a game doesn't exist for me anymore. I'm not paying $100 a game to sit in my car in traffic for 3 hours every game. I'm not interested in sitting in a 105 degree parking lot tailgating anymore. The stadium food is overpriced low grade dog food to me.

I tried the Club Level and it wasn't much better. Food was only slightly better than you get in the regular concourse but still not good. I'm 99% sure I'm not going to drop $1100 a game to sit in the Casa Roja seats to see if the food is any better there.

I'd rather sit at home and watch the games these days. I do miss the energy of the crowds from back in the day but it's not worth the hassle for me these days.

Agree 100%. Loved seeing you and the rest at the games, but I'd rather spend my money and time on Sundays doing more productive things instead of being away from home for 9 hours.

this is a league wide thing -- the only diff between the 32 franchises is the specifics of how they cater to high end ticket buyers (note I didnt use the word "fans" there)

and across the league -- you end up with a far higher % of people going to games that are of the fair weather type --

I learned this 2 years after the SB run. It was not only everything you mentioned above, but it was also dedicating 10 Sundays a year (most of the time, since we weren't playing much on Monday nights) when you have small ones to take care of. Combined all that and I only miss it a little bit. One game every few years scratches that itch.
