To be honest, what's new? The Valley is filled with fair weather fans along with the many transplants who bring their allegiances with them from home.

There is still a slue of D Back fans in the Valley. Whenever I visit, I see a lot of the custom logo plates. Ideally, it'd be nice if the team was able to attract more than 25k per game, but due to the above mentioned and the economy, it might be an unrealistic expectation. However, because the team should enter next season with higher expectations, season ticket sales might increase and more fannies will fill the stadium.

The team has been up and down, moving players every year it looks like next year we should have about the same team. Still would like to see one more big name on the team. I am just happy they got in this year more than I expected and looking forward to the playoffs.

Who is going to be available they might add?

Big name position players don't really seem to be at a position of need for us:

SS - Rollins and Reyes
1B - Fielder and Pujols

Of course, we probably wouldn't go after these guys anyway. I think we need to either rework the Aaron Hill contract because we aren't paying that much to pick up his option, or move Roberts to 2B and pursue a bigger bat at 3B.

That is the only tweak I would make in free agency. Of course, the biggest change will be in starting pitching. We have a ton of young studs in the Minors who should be ready for the big show next year.

Yea our pitching prospects are just awesome right now. If just a couple of those guys turns out to be as good as we think they will, our pitching situation is bright.

Plus, Drew will be back next year. :)

I'm looking forward to that, as long as we don't bat him cleanup.

Sportswriters don't have the right to bitch about cheap fanbases until they start buying their tickets like everybody else.
