It is a totally different dynamic under Michael Bidwill. Used to be we'd be turning our attention to the draft halfway through November. Now we have to get over our playoff disappointment before turning our attention to the draft. And of course we've gone from having a pretty good idea which player in the top ten the Cardinals are going to pick to wondering who is going to be left on the board by the time they are finally on the clock.

If we can get a #2 CB in FA then this is one hell of a draft. Just curious, where did Noah Spence land?

I concentrated on Defense early and often.
Using Fanspeak Draft Bigboard:

29: R1P29
OLB DARRON LEE
OHIO STATE
Reason - Can play either inside or outside, around the ball - quick

61: R2P30
OLB SCOOBY WRIGHT
ARIZONA
Reason - playmaker, uncanny grit

93: R3P30
CB DARYL WORLEY
WEST VIRGINIA
Reason - Big CB who could also play safety

129: R4P30
CB HARLAN MILLER
SOUTHEASTERN LOUISIANA
Reason - aggressive, quick CB. Athletic, not afraid to tackle

167: R5P28
C AUSTIN BLYTHE
IOWA
Reason - Lunch pail bucket center. Consistent, but smallish

170: R5P31
DT NILE LAWRENCE-STAMPLE
FLORIDA STATE
Reason - Big, space-eating nose guard.

208: R6P30
ILB LUKE RHODES
WILLIAM & MARY
Reason - Leader ILB. nother gritty player.

Pretty cool tool.

Using Fanspeak draft board:

29: R1P29
CB KENDALL FULLER
VIRGINIA TECH
Could be better than his older brother Kyle. Insurance if Bethel continues to struggle.

61: R2P30
C RYAN KELLY
ALABAMA
Too good to pass up at this point. Could be your starter at center for the next decade.

93: R3P30
OLB DEION JONES
LSU
The Cards need more speed at LB. Jones gives them an active LB who is comfortable in space.

129: R4P30
OLB JOE SCHOBERT
WISCONSIN
Non stop motor. Cards fans will love the effort this kid brings.

167: R5P28
RB JOSH FERGUSON
ILLINOIS
Versatile RB who can catch the ball out of the backfield.

170: R5P31
DT D.J. READER
CLEMSON
Big man who had a very good senior bowl. Questions about why he took a leave of absence from the team for part of the year cause him to drop.

208: R6P30
OT AVERY YOUNG
AUBURN
Versatile lineman who most likely will play guard but could also be used at RT.

Makes you appreciate the difficulty of the draft. Every time I had my eye on a prospect that was there 3-4 picks ahead of me, bam! He was taken 1-2 spots before me. By the time I decided who else to take my time would have run out....

I agree, draft boards must account for other team's draft needs and panics factors that may cause a team to take a player earlier than they should go.
