FOR NOW! Gonna make this short and sweet - leaving for Amsterdam in 7 hours - so I missed today's festivites. Jackson - good signing - outbid Steelers (I trust their defensive staff and if they wanted him, he's good enough for me) - Hodgins - Suckad*cka SAYANORA! Happy - Joel stunk and had two nice runs this year and fell into the end zone a couple times - couldn't make a block to save his life. Darling - good depth, comes from a winner - good attitude. Blake - good stop-gap QB - still wished he had Bostoin to throw the ball to, but he doesn'tand hopefully we can get some kind of veteran in here to play with the young guys. HOWEVER!

I did not like the statements that we will pursue DE and DT in draft and after june 1st - I hope this is just smoke - if we could get Holliday for not to much much cash I would be very happy and then hopefully we would have an assemblance of a pass rush. Because without one - the Jackson signing means nothing - if our secondary had the benfit of a pass rush, I believe they could be one of the best in the game - they are young, two have won super bowls and played well in the biggest game and THEY HAVE SPEED! Pass rush has been a problem for two offseasons now and it has to be addressed.

I gotta be honest with you guys though, even though Graves made some good moves today, the task at hand and the key to the team is the d-line - today's news gives me some hope back - it was getting as dark as it ever had been for me - but I'm really sorry I was in Phoenix today for this reason - today was the first time I've ever heard Graves speak, and I'm not sure who the rest of you guys are listening to, but Graves sounds a little-dim witted and slow to me, although he was then so rudley interrupted by COWBOY COACH MAC'S Hoopin and Hollerin' that it made me think the less I hear from these two guys, the better.

MY WISH LIST FOR WHEN I RETURN FROM AMSTERDAM:
Holliday signed
Curtis Conway/Orande Gadsen/Marcus Robinson - signed
Emmit Smith - NOT SIGNED (anyone who thinks this isn't a PR move I have to disagree with)
and last but not least . . .
NO STDs FROM RED-LIGHT DISTRICT HOOKERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! See ya guys in two weeks - as Sherrif Bart from Blazing Saddles would say . . . "KEEP THE FAITH BROTHERS!

I completely disagree! I think that Rod Graves is a terrific speaker. He is eloquent and does not go in circles. Today, he lost his train of thought a time or two, but you can tell that he is beat down and tired from dealing with agents for the past 13 days. Go back and listen to his interview with Lewis and Jurecki from last week. He remains calm and handles himself with class. Give him another chance!

I loved your Cowboy Coach Mac comment. I laughed my head off when I read that!

Take Care Cheezy

Emmitt's not going to bother me one way or the other.

This is a business and Billy is losing money. We all know Smith will put people in the stands. He can't carry the ball 20-25 times as in the past and he probably can't go every game so Shipp will get his carries. Smith can still get some yards especially with our line.

If the DL is addressed in free agency (Holliday) and MarTay and or Sanders resigns then I think we can address the receivers in the draft and not necessarily in round 1. Sanders/Martay coupled with McAddley and Kasper and a high round WR pick should be adequate....but I surely wouldn't turn down a FA wide receiver.

Be careful Cheezy....speaking of Cardinal Red me thinks they have some red things over there too....oh those are lights. Also don't inhale.

Rod reminds me of many supermarket chain buyers I've run across - They smile and say the right things, but they never give away ANYTHING they don't want you to hear.

You would be well-advised never to play poker with these suckers.

Given the positive results during the past 48 hours, he's doing a better than OK job and now that I've seen him in action, I'm more confident that he will continue to bring home the bacon.

I like his demeanor and I like self control and I certainly like his results to date.

Still, we really need to re-sign both Martay Jenkins and Frank Sanders. We cannot afford to lose all 3 of our top receivers in one year. Rod's brinkmanship handling of Martay Jenkins is making me nervous.

Overpay Jenkins, but just get it done. Losing Boston made Martay Jenkins a de facto #2 WR and that position commands between a $2 mill to $3 mill salary around the league, sometimes more.

What?
I personally like Graves but love him or hate him at least he talks to us! I think this point is being lost. What did Fergies voice sound like anyway I forgot it had been so long since an interview. This whole PR thing is brand new to the Cards as a whole. Give them some time they may just learn to like it and get better at it to boot.

I agree with your contract accessment, but only on the Arizona Cardinals would Martay be considered a #2 wide out. Any other team in the league he is a #3 or lower. I would like to see him get a bit more than Chad Morton did with the Jets. Martay at this point is more important as a special team player to this team than he is as a WR...thus they should pay him as such.

To be honest, I really have never been a Jenkins fan
