No press conference has been set but rumor is Farmar may announce as early as today he's staying in the draft. Baron Davis was on radio in LA yesterday and he congratulated Jordan on "making the jump to the NBA" and then he and the radio host apparently talked at length about how Howland and UCLA would feature Darren Collison's speed and quickness next year.

I didn't hear the interview and I have no idea how close Baron is to Jordan but he has apparently played pickup a few times recently on campus with Collison and was raving about the improvement in Collison's game. DC is up to 170 pounds(was 152 when he signed with UCLA) and apparently he's gotten most of the "hitch" out of his jumpshot so his release is much quicker. Baron said that Farmar's ankle injury, and Collison's inexperience, forced UCLA to play a slower tempo this past year but "they're going to open it up for DC next year quite a bit, he's an absolute jet. They can get a lot of easy baskets off his speed, which will offset what they lose in the halfcourt by Farmar leaving."

We'll see, BRO reported yesterday that they think Farmar is coming back to UCLA. Most are saying he's gone, Chad Ford is still insisting he thinks he's going to be a Bruin.

All quiet on the Afflalo front, everyone assumes he's coming back, but nobody really seems to have any information, they're just basing it on where he's rated, 2nd to undrafted. Deadline is Sunday.

I really think Farmar should stay at UCLA. I think another year of College will be getter for him to be ready to play point in the NBA.

It's also interesting that Coby Karl, son of George Karl may test the draft this year. He was a decent player at Boise State but he may be better of holding out a year as well. George Karl wants the nuggets to take him late in the second round, but we will see what happens.

Ford said that he believes Karl will return, he thinks George is going out of his way to try and sell him because he wants to do everything he can for Coby, but apparently even George will concede off the record that Coby should stay in school.

I'd love Farmar to come back but I can understand if he doesn't, odds are he'll go higher this year than next. I wish him luck either way, he's been a major part of the return of UCLA so I wish him no ill at all if he indeed stays in the draft.

Afflalo made it official today and announced he's withdrawn his name from the draft and is returning to UCLA next season.

We'll see on Farmar, there's an interview on draftexpress that quotes Farmar saying he's waiting for a first round guarantee, doesn't have one yet, and that's going to make the final decision, if he gets one or not.

LA radio is reporting Farmar has announced hes' staying in the draft.

About what I expected, Afflalo stays, Farmar goes. Congrats to both kids I can't fault either for testing the waters and certainly can't fault Jordan for going, it's his dream. I'll be rooting for him to go in the first round, one site yesterday said late lottery was even a possibility for Jordan.

This makes the pac 10 wideopen, UCLA will be very good but so should UA and UW and I still say Oregon is the surprise to watch it appears like Kent has weathered the storms there and he's got as much talent in his starting 5 as anybody in the conference.

Do any of you guys think Farmar would be a good point guard for the Suns in the future? I didn't watch him in too many games because I wasn't really interested in college basketball this year, but what do you all think?

If he can't be a Warrior, the Suns are the team I'd like to see him end up with, I think that style of play suits him fairly well. I suppose Cleveland too since playing with LeBron would seem to be a pretty good career move.

New Jersey has been mentioned, backing up Kidd sort of like Nash, tough shoes to fill. I think the difference is that Farmar isn't really "like" Kidd, nowhere near as big and strong, really a different player except for seeing the floor. I think Nash would be a better mentor because he's similar to Farmar, except a better shooter.

If I were advising Jordan I'd have said stay in school one more year, he won't turn 20 until the NBA season starts, he's still quite small, and his shot is very inconsistent, but the talent is there it just needs more time to develop. he's a great kid and I wish him well in the NBA he was one of the first to help get UCLA back where it belongs and put the nightmare of Lavin behind all UCLA fans.

Still drinking the Oregon kool-aid? They got the talent but with Rob Evans gone, Ernie is now probably the worst coach in the conference. The Ducks will underachieve again next season.

I hope Farmar lasts long enough for the Suns to get him in the draft. I don't think he's ready for the NBA, but a couple of years backing up Nash might be just as good for him as playing at the college level.

I agree he's an awful coach but I think talent wise they have as good a starting 5 as anybody in the Pac 10. You never know, sometimes a team that stays together suddenly gels. But there's no question it won't be because of Ernie kent.
