Like it or not, from what Monti said after the draft they are not worried about OG. They obviously believe Adams is the guy. Yes, Adams. He started the last five games. Based on how they used him the entire year they think they have gotten him ready to be an NFL starter. Remember, he got by far the most snaps of any rookie last preseason. Why they are so confident in him, I am not sure. But I think they really are.
If Monti's answer to RG is Adams, based on last year, then I again call Monti's acumen into question. I hope he didn't set the D up for success only to set the O up for failure.

I knew you wouldn't like it. And, Adams had a lot of struggles and I don't like basically penciling him in as the RG this season. But, yeah, their actions and words seem to indicate they are ok with that.

It is possible. We don't want an OG who is bad at pass blocking, which he is, to allow consistent interior pressure. I can also tell you're not a big fan either :)

I think he got much better every game he played and by the last couple games was actually playing very well.

Lets put it this way, I want him playing ahead of Evan Brown.

Well there’s really no one to push either of them, which is what the biggest challenge is.

Mm, I wouldn't call it the catbird seat because there are severely limited options available at this time. We're shopping in the dollar bin/hoping for non-dollar bin options to be cut. If we had a lot of cap space and a large player pool to choose from, that would be the catbird seat. Instead, we're left with a horrendous IOL to fix. It can be done. Can it be done to the point where it will be good enough? Time will tell.

For as much good as Monti did for the defense--and that is a lot--he seriously neglected IOL.
I don’t hate our starting o-line - it does hinge on isiah Adam’s taking a big step forward. My concern is the lack of depth if someone inevitably goes down

Other than Hernandez not signed, why in the IOL horrendous? It was solid last year.

The interior line was giving up a lot of pressure and getting pushed back causing KM to panic and start moving earlier than he should

KM was getting pressure shy and was looking for DTs instead of looking downfield at times

To be fair to him we need solidify the IOL to alleviate the pressure so he has that little extra time to make his decisions

Funny. I’m doing notes for my evaluation.

The two players I will suggest being added is Hernandez and Moore.

Moore would be the right style player missing in the WR room.
I liked Moore a lot when he came out Ole Miss, and I am surprised that he have not had more success, so I would like him on the team. However, I would like Amari Cooper more. I think he is a better fit for what they need the most, and I think he still have something left (he played injured last season). Petzing have a relationship with him from Cleveland, so he should know if he is worth a signing or not.

Watching him prepare, practice and play could offer a clue.

the Cards went after Will Fries, a guard in FA but lost out

that says they wanted to upgrade the position

That all happened when the Oline injuries piled up. Both starting OTs and Hernandez on IR, can't remember if Brown was still in there or not. This probably had a negative impact on Adam's as well.

Monti trying to sign Fries was trying to upgrade and get a Big John for Stout.
