I think we could all use a break from all the FA talk. I was just thinking of my favorite Cards play of all time and it got me all pumped up for next season. My favorite play was actually two seasons ago. It was the 3rd and long play where Q caught the ball in the backfield against Carolina. He broke three tackles in the backfield and then broke a couple more, busted loose for the TD. That was just awesome. What great strength and heart he has. What are your guys favorite plays?

The wide open pass to ...ugh, was it moore? sanders?..in the Dallas playoff game. Man, that broke their back. I savored every second (even if I can't remember who caught it).

Is one of those Eagles games the throw from Esiason to Dowdell?

Still my favorite was Jacke's kick to send us to the playoffs, not a highlight reel play but the fact that the Cards were in the playoffs was amazing. I was dancing on the field like a fool after that---"Stay off the field" my rear.

It wasn't a play, it was meeting the Cardinals plane at Sky Harbor after the team beat Dallas. There must have been 12,000 people there and it me a taste of what this fan base is capable of. If this team can even be a little successful the fans will go crazy.

I was there too, if I remember right the plane was delayed. McCain was there to meet the team too...not sure why I remember that but he was wearing a Cardinal hat.

Anyone remember the send off at the park next to the Cardinals HQ? I won some Cards gear during the trivia contest (coach MacGinnis gave me one of the answers). While there I remember talking to Steve Schoenfeld (RIP), he was goofy but really cool and knowledgeable.

The game in the 1998 season at home versus Washington that was one on a last second field goal. That was a crazy game and the ending was so great. Also the game against the Vikings to end the 2003 season because i was in the North Endzone right near the play.

When the team announced it was moving to Phoenix with its 190 area golf courses and cheap rt flights from Austin.

I spent a couple of hours listening to KMOX where they had a joint broadcast/call in show with a station in Arizona.

When my dad took me and my brother to the Cardinal/49er game in 1989 or something, at Sun Devil Stadium, we were getting killed 23-0 in teh 3rd quarter. My little brother asked, "Can we go home, we're getting killed!" I say heck no, we're gonna ride this out, and the Cardinals came back to win that game 24-23 . I was very proud that day. We faught back, great freaking game!

Sure would be nice to have more of those kinda feelings about my favorite team. :)

It was Frank Sanders, one handed.

Favorite moment (game) was the Cards beating Dallas 38-0 in 1970.Watched it with a bunch of Cowboy fans who were in shock by the end of the game. There where not a lot of Cardfans at Morehead State back then.Hell ,come to think of it i am the only Cards fan i know of around here.$Of course Cards broke my heart by folding up after the Cowboy game that year.

Boomer to Dowdell was beautiful! Dowdell was at full speed and Boomer hit him perfectly in stride. When I think of Boomer as a Cardinal, I think of that play.

Wasn't Dowdell the guy they caught stealing blank checks from Eric Hill's locker?

McCain has season tickets. I don't know how often he goes or what kind of fan he is but when I've heard him talk he sounds alright. Said last year on the radio before a preseason game that the Bids have to produce now that Valley stepped up and got them their stadium. Pretty much the same thing everyone else says.

Watching the fans tear down the goal posts after beating the Cowboys. Had to be one of the funniest things I've seen at an NFL game.

The people who were "doing it" at SDS that one game. The action was hotter in the stands than on the field. I swear the whole stadium and even the players were watching

I was there! It was Frank Sanders and it was awesome! Kwammie Lassiter gave my wife and I tickets, so we sat with the IR players and their families. Joe Nedney was hilarious and it was about 20 of us and a sea of blue! KL was a very cool guy and was great to us...

That was by far the best Cardinal experience I have ever had.

Flew the next week to Minny and watched the Cards get blasted in Rd 2!

So hard but the kick to put us in the playoffs relieved so many years of frustration. Outside of that, everyone that knows me will tell you that it was when we beat the eagles at the Vet in the 99 opener. 12 eagles friends giving me hell all game along with a full stadium, and we silence them at the end. As the players were leaving the field and the stands were emptying, I slammed my friends eagles hat to the ground, and said "No, YOU LOOK AT THA SCOREBOARD!!" Almost got into a few mixups on the way out, but easily that memory and feeling will live with me forever.

Portland Oregon these days.
December 27, 1998. San Diego ties the game with 16 seconds left. I'm biting my fingernails, figuring we're heading into overtime. Then our miracle season continues as Eric Metcalf returns the kickoff for 46 yards.

Jacke lines up to try a 52 yard field goal. If he makes it, game over and Cards are in the playoffs. Jacke had previously missed a 42 yarder.

The stadium is full, but you can hear a pin drop. Everyone, players, coaches, fans -- everyone is dead quiet. Nothing to do now but watch the guy who replaced an injured Nedney just a few weeks back decide our fate.

I can still hear the roar as that kick sailed through the uprights. Aenas Williams had tears in his eyes. Nobody wanted to leave - if they'd wheeled kegs out, we'd have been there for a week.

"I saw it was pretty much straight down the middle," said Jacke. "I just turned to the sideline -- and was mobbed."

Cool description! :raccoon:

At that time, I would have made a very large wager that we would have been in the playoffs at least 1 more time in the next 10 years! Oops.
