In a fit of anger, Green Bay Packers quarterback Brett Favre requested a trade nearly two weeks ago, a source close to the quarterback confirmed. The trade request was initially reported by FOXsports.com.

In addition, Favre expressed his frustration over the team’s failure to acquire former Pro Bowl wide receiver Randy Moss after Favre said he had agreed to restructure his deal to accommodate Moss.

Although the Packers have reportedly told Favre that they have no intention of dealing him, the revelation of the trade request and his public comments about the failed effort to get Moss, could make for an interesting time when the Packers hold a mini-camp next weekend.

Even more, Favre’s remarks could put pressure on Packers general manager Ted Thompson, who has been coy over the past two years about his desire to have Favre come back or retire.

Why not Miami? They want Trent Green wouldn't they want Brett Favre even more?

What?
GB would do well to just cut the cord now. Better 2 years late than never.

If I was Farve I would pissed too. He came back to win a super bowl. The Packers have done nothing in the off season to compete for a super bowl.

possible teams for Farve are the Chiefs, Jaguars, Panthers, Bucs, or Vikings. The Bucs and Chiefs are the most likly teams in the running if Farve would be traded.

If Favre restructured with the express intent to get Moss, I think he has every right to be pissed.

So the little drama queen is at it again?

How about you stop holding that team hostage and let them properly plan for the future instead of having to worry about whether or not you will retire every season?

I've been playing the "over/under" as to how many posts on this thread it would take before the "bring him in/it can't hurt" sign appeared (I predicted 4 posts). So far 12 posts and no nibbles.

Excellent!

Didn't Moss want to go to NE? I thought the raiders gave him the choice and he choose NE? How is that the Packers fault?

Damage control. I'm sure Favre really did make such a request, but the indecisive prima donna changed his mind

Didn't he know the Packers were/are a long way from contending? I would think so.

He is just complaining to complain. It's what Lord Favre does.

Favre: I never really wanted to be traded
By CHRIS JENKINS, AP Sports Writer
May 14, 2007

MILWAUKEE (AP) -- Brett Favre acknowledged his anger over the team's unwillingness to pull off a trade for wide receiver Randy Moss, but denied Monday he ever really wanted the Green Bay Packers to trade him. "I was frustrated a couple weeks back when Randy Moss was traded to New England," Favre said on the Packers' Web site. "I never wanted to be traded and I don't want to be traded. I want to be in Green Bay. I want to finish my career as a Packer."
