Cue the 24/7 ESPN coverage. Funny how sources close to him Favre are cited, how does the agent not now, neither the team nor the player comment, but the sources tell EPSN he might come back?

I just don't see how they can take him back. They have moved on and named Rodgers the starter. Quite, a dilema in cheesehead land. If they refuse to put him on the roster he must be released setting up a LOOOOONNNNGGGGGGGG line of teams that may be interested. Minnesota, the Ravens, Bears, Jets, Lions and Bills may come knocking. Wouldn't that be weird and he did come back, the Pack refuses to take him and he plays for the Bears or Vikes?

Whoa, whoa. A long list of interested teams? I'd be shocked.

I agree the Pack does not want him back, under any condition. And they are right in moving on.

I'll take you up on that one. The Pack would love to have him back if they start the season 1-3 for example.

There is no way the Pack turn away Favre. You guys are crazy to think they would.

If he wants to come back the Pack HAS to take him, he is light years ahead of Rodgers and who really cares about hurting feelings. Favre = Wins (well alot more than Rodgers)

The Packers couldn't turn Farve away. The Fans would revolt.

IF he comes back they'd have to keep 4 QB's on the roster. That's probably not how they want to take up spots.

There is no way they could do turn him away. The fans would burn down the stadium.

Can you actually burn something that's built on "the frozen tundra?"

Lol i'm starting to feel bad for Rodgers it seems like anychance he gets to play Favre changes his mind and puts back in the number 2 spot. I'm kind of hoping Favre doesn't back I need Rodgers to be my backup qb for my fantasy team well one of them lol.

I sense Rodgers is getting ticked too there's a quote from him in SI where he says something like fans need to get on board or get lost. Forget the exact quote but I think it was a response to fans of Favre being lukewarm to the Pack under Rodgers.

It's a tough situation if Favre really comes back if I were Rodgers I'd demand a trade immediately.

RODGERS SUCKS UP TO FANS

Quarterback Aaron Rodgers has touched off a major firestorm in Packerland, via the following quote from the new Sports Illustrated: “I don’t feel I need to sell myself to the fans. They need to get on board now or keep their mouths shut.”

Rodgers has addressed the remarks, but refused to say whether he was misquoted or whether the remarks were taken out of context. (In other words, he was quoted properly, and his words weren’t taken out of context.)

“I do care deeply about the fans and I think anybody who has been to training camp and sees I’m a lot of times the last one out signing autographs sees I care about the fans, I care about their opinions,” Rodgers tells the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel. “Everybody wants the fans to care for them and to pull for them and I am no different. That’s why the thing that would bother me the most would be if anybody would be offended by the things that were stated because I do care about the fans. . . .

“The biggest disappointment in this whole thing is if anybody is offended by the stuff I say because I think that my track record pretty much speaks for itself in the way I feel about the fans,” Rodgers said. ”I don’t want the wrong message to come out of this.”

Okay, so Rodgers cares deeply about the fans, but he also thinks they need to get on board now or keep their mouths shuts. And he means no offense in saying that.

It actually makes sense to us, and the comments aren’t inconsistent. But if Rodgers’ words are an example of how he deals with pressure weeks before it’s time to line up against a much-improved Minnesota defense for a season-opening Monday nighter that will be overshadowed by a Festivale of Brett Favre crotch nuzzling, we fear that Aaron’s head might explode on the evening of September 8

Thanks that was the quote. I think he was just saying support us or don't say anything but it came out a bit harsh.

But again given the pressure on him replacing Favre you can sort of understand why.

:yeahthat:

I am with you about requesting a trade if you are Rodgers. If it were me, the headline on the front of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinal would be;

A-Bomb: 'Eff Brett Favre'

No, no, no. You Packer backers are so smitten with the past, you're misreading the clear signals coming from the coach and management.

No way Favre ever plays again in Green Bay under Mike McCarthy. You'll see. No doubt, we'll revisit this topic in the fall.

I agree with Skorpp. On the other side of things, Seau gave his retirement speech just to come back & play for a couple of more season. He might play again this season. Veteran players have said time & time again how they hate mini camps. That they couldn't think of any reason why they would have to attend these things.

Hey, I know it's the summer doldrums for football right now. But, I can't believe that you guys are falling for this total non-story.

Of course, as time for training camp nears Farve will get an itch. He said exactly that on Letterman shortly after announcing his retirement months ago. It's to be expected.

But Farve is done.

It's simple......If Brett wants to play....he is going to play for the Packers. There is no one on that team or in the front office thats going to tell him otherwise. The fans rule the roost in Green Bay, and if the packers came out 1-4 with Rodgers at the helm......It would get ugly.

Not saying I agree with it, but thats the way it is. I have family all over Wisconsin and they tell me they dont care if Brett walks in midway through the first Quarter of the first game. They want him at QB
