You have to be, IMO, a revolutionary; one who has been at the top of his position for many, many years to be a first ballot HOF.

Warner, even with what he did to bring this franchise to the Super Bowl, was a borderline HOF before he came to the Cards. He didn't accomplish that much while he was here to be a 1st ballot HOF. (besides to Cards fans)

And since then. I constantly hear him being introduced, since he retired, as "Future Hall of Famer Kurt Warner". My antenna is always up for that kind of talk and it's definitely there.

Speaking of Favre, he is probably out for next week, TJ and their 3rd string QB are both hurt. They are bringing in Patrick Ramsey, and it looks like he might get the start. Damn , our QB situation looks a little better now in comparison, just a little.

But it was also nice to see Kurt leave in a playoff season with one of the greatest passing performances ever under his belt. Who knows what this season would have brought. Ultimately we have been left with great memories.

Warner might be the only guy to actually enhance his legacy by retiring. With the Cards having such a pathetic season it makes him look better and better each week.

I think this season reminds some of those that don't follow the team the way we do how bad we were/are historically and makes what he did in his time here seem even greater.

I'm sure it's been posted previously so excuse me for being redundant... But, has there ever been another QB who's career can compare to that of Warner? In terms of being undrafted. Coming out of obscurity to leading a team (Rams) out of the pit of hell (45 & 99 for the preceeding 9 combined seasons prior to Warner taking over, 37 & 11 during Kurt's 3 year run), with 2 Super Bowl appearances, a Super Bowl title and MVP, with 2 league MVP's... falling down a pot-hole in the middle of his career, to then coming back on yet another team stuck in the pit of hell (Cards), and leading them to their first ever Super Bowl appearance and consecutive division titles... I can't think of any other QB in the history of the NFL that put together a career that could even come close to Kurt's in terms of the degree of ups and downs.

He is still 2nd alltime in career completion % (65.5), behind Pennington who will never play another down in the NFL.
He's #7 alltime for Passer Rating (93.7), ahead of HoFers like Montana, Marino, Favre (future), Staubach, Kelly, Aikman...
He is #2 alltime for passing yards per game (259) , behind only Peyton Manning who is at 264 and dropping...
He is #9 alltime in post-season passer rating (109.2).
Top 25 alltime in win % as a starter.

I really don't believe there is any doubt that he will be in Canton one day. And for me, I would not at all be surprised if he were wearing the yellow jacket the first chance he gets...
