The teams and matchups are set for one of the state’s premier in-season high school basketball tournaments.

The 2025 Henry Community Health Hall of Fame Classic is set for Dec. 22 (girls) and Dec. 23 (boys) at New Castle Fieldhouse. This is the 49th year for the boys and 42nd year for the girls. Here is a look at the matchups and teams:

Girls​


Monday, Dec. 22

11 a.m. – Warsaw vs. Evansville Central

To follow – Norwell vs. Plainfield

6 p.m. – Consolation

To follow – Championship

A closer look at the teams:

Evansville Central (23-5): Led by Junior Indiana All-Star Maddy Shirley (25.5 ppg, 11.9 rpg, 3.3 bpg, 2.5 apg), the Bears went 23-5 and secured their first regional championship in program history. They're also projected to return starters Olivya Hile (8.9 ppg, 3.8 rpg) and Maddie Glaser (5 ppg, 2.9 rpg, 1.9 apg), and Sophie Jones, who clocked 3.5 points, an assist and two rebounds per game off the bench.

Norwell (23-6): The reigning Class 3A state champions make the jump to 4A with the majority of their roster intact. The Knights will be headlined by leading scorers Vanessa Rosswurm and Macie Saalfrank. Addison Morris was a steady scorer and key piece within coach Eric Thornton's trademark 1-3-1 defense. Ashley Waldman, Jada Dale and Alivia Green provide additional depth.

Plainfield (17-6): The Quakers are led by the junior-sophomore backcourt tandem of Berkeley Williams (14.2 ppg, 2.8 apg and 1.9 spg) and Hannah Menser (17 ppg, 3.6 rpg, 3.3 apg, 2.9 spg and 1.8 bpg). There's a deep core of sophomores beyond them with Abrielle Dugan (7.9 ppg, 1.5 spg, 1.4 apg), Kara Olejnik (5 ppg, 1.7 spg) and Bryleigh Todd (3.7 ppg).

Warsaw (26-2): The 4A state runner-up Tigers averaged 71.6 ppg in 2024-25 and bring a pair of Miss Basketball candidates with Joslyn Bricker (19 ppg, 5.3 rpg, 3.2 apg, 2.6 spg) and Brooke Zartman (17.8 ppg, 1.9 apg, 2.9 spg). They're also projected to return junior Alexis Neely, who averaged 9.5 points, 4.6 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 1.6 steals over 28 games.

Boys​


Tuesday, Dec. 23

11 a.m. – Mt. Vernon vs. Northview

To follow – Silver Creek vs. Crown Point

Crown Point (22-2 currently) – The Bulldogs will return seven juniors and two sophomores from a team that will play Saturday in the Class 4A semistate for the second consecutive year. Coach Clint Swan, in his 19th season at Crown Point, will bring back a team led by 6-6 junior Dikembe Shaw (16.1 ppg, 6.6 rebounds), 6-2 guard Mason Darrell (14.4 ppg, 3.3) and juniors Kaiden Rhodes and Bryce Peters. This will be Crown Point’s first appearance.

Mt. Vernon (21-5 currently) – The Marauders, who are playing in New Castle for the Class 4A semistate on Saturday, will make their fourth trip to the Hall of Fame Classic and first since 2013. Mt. Vernon will be led by 6-2 junior and Purdue commit Luke Ertel (22.6 ppg, 6.5 rebounds, 3.8 assists), 6-foot junior Elijah Parra (9.2 ppg) and 6-6 sophomore Max Vise (8.0 ppg). Joe Bradburn is in his second season with Mt. Vernon and has 337 wins overall in 26 seasons.

Northview (24-3) – The Knights are coming off a regional appearance in Class 3A and will bring back all but two players. Leading the way for Northview will be 6-foot junior guard Brayden Goff (16.3 ppg, 6.2 rebounds, 4.8 assists), 6-2 junior Avery Perry (10.7 ppg, 5.4 rebounds) and 5-10 sophomore Trayven Buis (9.2 ppg, 3.1 assists). Coach Shawn Nevill just completed his second season at Northview, which will make its second appearance in the Hall of Fame and first since 2003.

Silver Creek (22-5) – The Dragons played for a Class 3A sectional championship, falling by two points to fourth-ranked Brownstown Central. Coach Brandon Hoffman will go into his 16th season led by a trio of juniors in 6-3 Kasen Daeger (16.2 ppg, 3.4 rebounds), Dane Sprigler (15.4 ppg and Dane Caldwell (12.0 ppg, 3.4 rebounds). This will be the Dragons second appearance in the Hall of Fame Classic and first since 2019.
