This mass exodus explains why schools should avoid hiring a first time HC. NO staff. When a top 20 program does something like this, it is a recipe for disaster. Stewart most likely end up with not wanteds, just fireds, and newbies. It is not like he has time and youth on his side. I think he is 55 years old and this would be his last gig, wheteher it is a good one or bad.

The CMU hire would seem like the better choice. An up and coming coach who could bring his own staff and has had success at a mid level school. Looks like emotions overruled this decision process.

Bill Stewart has been in coaching for 30 years. He has plenty ofcontacts and honestly what OC wouldnt want to come to WVU and coach this amount of talent on the offensive side of the ball.

The other thing people dont understand is that WVU wants a coach that WANTS to be there. iT is important for the school and the state to have soemone as HC who understands West Virginia and is proud to be there. I know it sounds corny, but WVU has this "us vs. them mentality" and they dont want someone coming in who is looking at the job as a stepping stone.

Thats exactly what I was thinking but Bill Stewart isn't a first time coach though he was a HC at VMI. The problem with Stewart is that he came cheap which prevents his current/future assistants from being paid a decent amount of money. I'm not exactly sure about that but I thought it was some sort of policy there or something.

Thats not true. Lke I said earlier, the boosters club just tried to keep Barwis by giving him a 40% raise. The assistants money thing is of no issue.

Plus they will have 4million dollars to play with!

I know aint it? I even annoy myself at times.. So you can now understand how completely annoying WVU fans were if they were more annoying than me.. I set up shop walking around the WVU tailgates selling Vagisil at 20 bucks a pop.. I made a killing..

I hope Bill Stewart sends Bob Stoops a Christmas card next year. Stoops managed to hand the job to Stewart, with another dismal coaching/prep job of his Sooners. Had Okie won, I doubt Sterrat gets the job.

BTW, has Bob Stoops ever won a BCS game?
