Review: 'Fifty Shades of Grey' is 50 kinds of boring

http://www.azcentral.com/story/entertainment/movies/2015/02/12/review-fifty-shades-of-grey/23198809/

What's the sound of people swooning?

It seemed that it might be possible to learn the answer while watching "Fifty Shades of Grey" — the film based on the best-selling series of erotic novels — with an audience. But two hours later, nope. The sound of titters and outright laughter? Sure, and lots of it (some of it even intentional). But swooning? Titillation? Excitement? Better look in another theater.

So let's get down to brass tacks. Yes, there are sex scenes in the film, quite a few. But for a movie where people are naked for a large chunk of time and play at bondage and dominance (without ever really seeming all that committed to it), it sure is boring.

------

But the real sadism arrives at the very end of the film, and it is breathtaking in its cruelty: the promise of a sequel.

Anyone who knows any of the gullible peple going to see this movie, please inform them not to actually try to act it out. 50 Shades is a gross distortion of the lifestyle it's attempting to depict. It includes rape, ignoring consent, assault, abuse--an entire laundry list of things that people who engage in the lifestyle know are unsafe. It would be sad to see too many people get hurt doing things they are clueless and misinformed about.

Thanks Dr. Love. :D

My wife read the books. I want her to read them all again :)

My wife just picked up the books today from her friend. She enjoyed the movie last night, but she liked it for the story more than the you know what. The way it ended made her want to read the books. Guess we shall see how this all ends up...... ;)

Ugh. My wife is begging me to take her. I would rather dump and handful of sand over my eyeballs and rinse it with lemon juice.

I went and saw it with my wife. It wasn't that bad. I actually enjoyed it.

Lots of T&A which is all fine in my book.

The movie "Fifty Shade of Grey" sounds a bit similar to the launch of the pornographic film, "***********" that got mainstream attention in 1972.

Broke down and took wife. It was Fifty Shades of something alright. Totally over hyped and nothing you have not seen already if you have watched even 5 minutes of Cinemax. Not as bad as critics said but nothing to write home about.

That was true of our showing as well. Some couples but mostly women. In fact, the group in front of us was pretty raunchy. They were throwing sex jokes around before the movie started and joking around the entire time. I have never seen so many giddy woman in one movie before. LOL.

This movie SUCKED. Took my girlfriend to see it, and she hated it too. We still had sex when we got home, but this movie was the opposite of arousing for us. Poor script, bland acting, and a ridiculous premise... made the Twilight movies look like cinematic genius by comparison.

Audience is 99% women but 99% of articles on it are by women who are against the movie because he essential is raping and abusing her.
