Nah, you weren't being a jerk at all.

Just remember, Jesus flipped over tables when he felt the temple was being misused. :D

correction - he did it twice.

once at the beginning of his ministry and once at the end.

Wow-you are going to call someone a girl if they don't agree with your stance. You said that you agree with what Artest did, and that you would do the same. Do you think that it is justified to throw a punch even if you are not 100% sure if who you are hitting threw the cup?

If your boss disrespected you at work, would you throw a right-hook his way?

I was a little bit heated when I called Cheese that and I apologize. But to answer your question if my boss threw a cup of coffee or spit at or on me yes I would beat him down right where he stood.

has this occurred to anyone else here? I know some people are gonna say I'm nuts - but what has Artest been talking about ALL SEASON LONG - even in interviews at halftimes of games he's playing - his Rap album. Part of me is starting to think Artest KNEW EXACTLY what he was doing last night. He didn't EXPLODE up when the beer hit him. In fact he's rather calm and calculating about what he's doing - if you're not following me - what is one of the key things that drives the rap society? This inane concept of so-called "street cred" - hell - we even saw yesterday Gee and 100% talking about how much more respect they have for Artest - not leting anyone "disrespect" him and nonsense such as that which is inherently necessary in our biggest rap stars.

I actually think Artest knew exactly what he was doing - he's wanted time off - he's made it pretty well known how buck wild crazy he is - not shying away from it and now - at the first HINT of an opportunity to gain INSTANT "street cred" he incites a riot. I didn't see Yankees or Red Sox run into the stands when people sdtarting throw crap out there in Game 6 - Antoine Walker didn't go into the stands in a similar situation last year - but none of them were busy worrying about promoting their stupid freaking rap album which wouldn't even exist if not for playing basketball.

The really sad thing - is this - apparebtly by doing what he did - based on the responses from Gee and 100%, it seems he actually ACCOMPLISHED his goal.

Call me crazy - but it wasn't red that Artest saw in his eyes when that cup hit him - it was GREEN.

I never ever said that I respect Artest or respect him even more for this. All I said was that I agree with what he did cause I could see myself doing something like that if provoked so right or wrong I still can see where he is coming from.

Fans started this whole thing, it was getting under control until that moron threw the beer.

Fans will be fans. WE pay them millions. There is no reason for any player to go in the fans. He needs to keep his arse on the court.

That is nonsense. The fans don't pay the players anything. The owners do. Several owners loose money every year. The attitude that fans should get a pass because they pay money is bogus.

Fans will be fans. People who incite riots should be thrown in jail. No decent fan of any sport would want to be grouped in the same catagory as the people who started this thing.

Actually I have. Of course, I also understand how the revenue flow in the NBA works. The team who gets the most revenue from the games is the NY knicks, and they hit around 41 million a year. Hate to tell you, the Suns have a higher payroll (than 41 million that is), and a far less revenue per game than the Knicks.

Well, the DA says he indentified the cup thrower. A convicted felon of course (the guy in the blue). Of course he denies it right now, but ESPN just showed an angle that proves him.

ESPN showed this guys commets, and is now dissecting it.

His felony was "intent to do bodily harm" and 3 DUI's. He is a season ticket holder, and Detroit announced he is banned for life from games.

I hope the loser (cup thrower) gets the book thrown at him.

I heard they are also looking for the person who threw a chair into a group of people, and that that person will be charged with a felony.

Agree. From what I understand, the guy could get 6 months in jail. That is the max for the misdeamor, and he will likely get charged next week. With his history, seems likehe will get hit hard.

Flyers are being put out for the chair thrower. Hopefully someone comes up.

Not likely. He'll probably get a light sentence followed by community service and probation. Meanwhile he will be filing a lawsuit against Artest, the Pacers, and maybe the NBA and the Pistons and he will eventually get back way more than what he spent on legal fees for his own criminal trial. Remeber that jackass Cubs fan who stole the Dodgers catcher's hat while he was sitting in the bullpen and got pummeled? He filed a lawsuit and is sitting pretty somewhere to the tune of $475,000.

The guys past should nail him with a max sentence. It isn't just a convincted felon, his rap sheet is violence and drinking......

Of course you are right, he will get a nice settlement. Which is wrong IMO.

what will he get a settlement for? He didn't get punched or anything , in fact with that video, he is shown to be the aggressor. He ain't gonna get crap. The poor guy who Artest threw down to the ground that did nothing though - he'll get a settlement and should. You can't just start randomly beating people up because SOMEONE threw something on the court.

Besides - everyone says the guy threw the beer at Artest - I call total BS on that. The guy should be punished - has already been banned from the Palace and shoudl be fined - but if you've seen the new tape - where they show him under handing his toss - he must be pretty practiced at the Beer underhand flip to have nailed Artest(note heavy sarcasm here). I think he was just being an ass and throwing a drink into the mellee - not that that makes it any better - but it wasn't like A threw it directly at Artest - he threw a floater into the air and it landed on Artest.

Green was not suppsoed to drink alcohol apparently as part of his probation - that guy's gonna get nothing but legal bills and fines - and rightly so - he's a scumbag.

Hey no problem Cheesebeef, I apologize as well for the vagina comment, that was uncalled for. We were just discussing this and I should have kept it civil. Its not like you threw a beer at me or anything :D

you just couldn't help but get the word "vagina" in this thread one more time, could you? :)

I think it's funny that this guy, Green, and his lawyer keeps saying it was a cup of ice when they know darn well it was a cup of beer. Obviously they are trying to keep him out of trouble for breaking his probation by drinking.

those "fans" were lucky that none of the punches they took were that solid - anybody remember K Washington v. R Tomjonavich?
Maybe the NBA needs to go South American soccer and have moats around the floor - or install hockey glass...

I think you are like Samson now...instead of without your hair you lose your strength--you lose your hair and you lose all rational thought.

I keed, I keed. :D

So - who here saw Ron Artest on the Today Show this morning showing very little remorse, but instead was focussing on his rap album coming out. The guy is getting exactly what he wanted all along - EXPOSURE - he did it by sitting out games, not showing any remorse, rather pushing on about his album and then on Friday - figured out THE way to get THE most exposure possible by inciting a riot. Sure it was red in his eyes and not GREEN when he went into the stands. Beating that guy up was a total publicity stunt. He can handle Ben Wallace shoving him in the neck, but he can't handle a cup bouncing off his chest - BS - his appearance and actions on the Today Show only further cement my earlier notion that he knew exactly what he was doing.

A couple of days ago I made a long post about how bad Detroit is and somebody gave me a bunch of BS about Auburn Hills...

Now we're seeing the truth. It was a bunch of trash that was involved. Detroit is a toilet. And just because the games are in Auburn Hills doesn't mean all the low lifes from Detroit can't load up in their hillbilly pickups and drive 30 miles to the games.

Did anybody else see that almost all the guys involved moved down from cheap seats to get into it.

So we have multiple ex-cons with history's of alcohol abuse and violent behavior courtside for the end of violent NBA game between the 2 most physically aggressive teams.

This is what you get when you market your team as "THE NEW BAD BOYS"

I wonder how arena violence at the Palace compares with the rest of the league?
