Before this game the New Jersey Nets were complaining about the referees. Tonight there have been some bad calls/no calls on both sides, but overall the refereeing has definitely favored New Jersey. I mean San Antonio is getting hammered virtually every time down the floor with no calls. And on the other end New Jersey is going to the line frequently with minimal contact.

That Richard Jefferson commercial is awful.

He is actually saying that Kidd is like Magic Johnson and that he makes his teammates shoot better and pass better.

Funny how KVH stats went down with Kidd...

the dunk by jefferson was pretty nice....but walton's comments ruined it for me

It is not like he dunked on a stiff either. It was Kevin Willis, he is 7 foot and he is buff!

HE IS ALSO 40 YEARS OLD

hate walton

That Richard Jefferson slam dunk over Kevin Willis was nice, but upon replay it wasn't as great as it looked at first. Kevin Willis didn't even try to contest it. He turned his body and never left his feet. It wasn't nearly as good as Rose's dunk over Mutombo last game.

The New Jersey Nets are playing flat out dirty basketball.

New Jersey is blowing it. Reminds me of old times.

Yeah Richard Jeffersons wasn't close to the rim on that dunk either and Jefferson took about 2 steps towards Willis with Willis doing nothing but turning away before being dunked on. Though I was typing when Jefferson dunked and only looked over to the TV for a moment.

Correct me if I am wrong but this time Speedy Claxton is embarassing Jason Kidd on the defensive end while Kidd embarasses himself on offense with missed layups.

It reminds me of that Sacramento series the year before Jason Kidd left. When you don't have a very good half-court offense and rely mostly on open court play you are prone to long scoring droughts. If the other team scores it is difficult to get into the open court game.

I am loving it.

Jason Kidd and the Nets are showing their true colours even Bill Walton seems to notice something.

That Ginobili behind the back reminded me of Joe Johnson. I remember him doing a very similiar move early in the season. He didn't steal the ball but he caught a high lob pass on the break with a defender infront of him and went right behind the back without really catching the pass. Too bad he lost the dribble seconds lates. :)

Bill Walton just said something really intelligent, I think.

He said Tim Duncan is like Pete Sampras. I couldn't agree more with that.

Not fair to use KVH's stats to refute the argument R. Jefferson makes. KVH has continued to be horrible in philly, so how can you blame Kidd now? Hell, RIchard Jefferson PLAYS with Jason Kidd and says it, how can you effectively refute that? You can disagree, but Jefferson still comes from a stronger arguing standpoint thatn you could ever hope to, dont you think?

I agree that it's difficult to look at the statistics and discount what someone like Richard Jefferson says about playing with Jason Kidd. However it's also difficult to take Jefferson's comments seriously when he wants Jason Kidd to stay in New Jersey so badly.

Remember that before Jason Kidd left all we heard about was that Shawn Marion owed 90% of success to Kidd. I believe Shawn Marion had showed that was utter BS, and I think guys like Richard Jefferson and Kenyon Martin are underestimated because of Kidd.

The biggest problem with the comparisons to Magic Johnson is that Magic Johnson could take over a game scoring. I don't feel like looking at up, but I believe he shot around 49% for his career. I also don't believe he turned the ball over nearly as much as Jason Kidd. Kidd has been among the league leaders (#1 or #2) for the last several years.

Jason Kidd is a very good basketball player, but he isn't nearly in the class of a Magic Johnson.

You know, I was thinking the same exact thing. Manu's shot was short, that was obvious, but I thought you couldnt touch the rim or the net like Kidd did. I assume they didnt call it because it was obvious that the shot wasnt going to fall.

Yeah that's true. I mean, Kidd might have touched the Net, but it had no effect on Manu's shot. For all we know, with the way Manu shot the ball, that shot could've been a pass. Obviously it wasn't, but the point is, it might just as well have been.

So the series is 2-2 now. This series is a lot like the Suns/Spurs series. Considering Phoenix should've won that series, I'd say New Jersey has a very good chance. If they lose tonight though, I couldn't honestly see them winning 2 in San Antonio. But it's the NBA, and anything can happen.

Oh, and yeah I thought the exact same thing about Jefferson's dunk.. At first it was absolutely sick, but then on the replay it wasn't as nice because Willis didn't contest it. Still, looking at that picture, it was one hell of an athletic showing by RJ.
