Ken Rosenthal on tonight's ASR said that Finley or Bautista could possibly be traded if the Diamondbacks are not in contention down the road. He said Finley could waive the no-trade to go to a contender.

Sexson is eligible to come off the DL tomorrow and the Angels have lost Troy Glauss to a knee injury. If Troy's injury keeps him out for an extended period of time I wonder if the Angels would be interested in Shea?

If Finley goes I will be furious because everyone knows Joe Jr. sucks at trades and we will get robbed.

Finley has been my favorite player since his SD days.

He's more than likely gone anyways. This team is cutting payroll and more than likely won't re-sign Bautista or him so might as well get something in return rather than just lose them in FA

As of yesterday (Wed), Sexson hadn't even picked up a bat so he is still a ways away. I personally think it would be foolish to bail on Hillenbrand until you are sure A. Sexson is really healthy and B. he is signed long term. Colbrunn is not an everyday guy and Hillenbrand can be. Shea has been playing pretty well as of late IMO.

Hillenbrand, at least short term, has proven to accept his position on the team, he can spell Tracy and Sexson and as proven he can play everyday effectively in case of injury.

Hillenbrand is an everday player, who can put up good numbers and drive in over 100 runs. He was slumping before. We need to find a way to get him in the lineup whever Sexon comes back.

Another reason why I would be reluctant to deal Hillenbrand is that it is too premature to etch Tracy as the every day 3B.

First, he must improve himself defensively (especially reduce those errant throws to 1B) and he must also prove himself capable of being a consistent hitter. Eventually, all the opposing scouts will have better reports on what his weaknesses are and will begin to exploit him (which happened to a lot of the "Babybacks" toward the end of last season).

How much would the Dbacks get in return for Finley or Bautista? They would more than likely have to package in a couple pitching prospects, and I don't know who the Dbacks could afford to or be willing to part with....

I would deal hillenbrand in a heart beat. Last season his OBP was what? .320? He doesn't hit many home runs. Not a good defensive third baseman i just don't get why people find him to be very good.

I totally agree with "KingLouieLouie". Tracy looks like he can hit, but let's wait until everyone gets a scouting report on him and we can see how he adjusts. His defense really concerns me.

I really doubt that there is a market for Bautista. Maybe Finley, but his salary is not cheap. If he stays hot for another month, maybe we can get a decent prospect from a team with deep pockets.
