Exactly. Besides Kyler, the offense sputtered because the offensive line turned into a bunch of used car salesmen that kinda want to play football. Petzing was fine today.
He, like a lot of other parts of our team, is inconsistent. Our best drive in the 2nd half involved going with pace and passing most of the time. We then followed that up by never doing it again. Why?

He needs to let go of his obsession with running it on 1st down every single time

when your qb throws 2 picks in the first quarter - in his own redzone - your game plan goes in the garbage - im not a petzing fan but kyler didn't get sacked 18 times today and can call audibles whenever his rookie of the year pro bowl 5 year veteran ass wants to

No it doesn’t.

Petzing absolutely stuck with his game plan except for 1 series.

Dude continues to call the game so conservatively it hinders every offensive weapon we have except JC.

Those 2 interceptions killed us today and they were on Kyler.
They are both on Kyler especially the 2nd one. The first one I am watching the play and looking at the back of #13 who is going to the right. But he has eyes on Kyler and when he throws it he stops on a dime and spins around and picks it off. I think Kyler didn't see him or thought he was leaving the area. Kyler blew it. But I still think that was a nice play for a LB.

you're talking to one of the biggest petzing haters on the board muchacho - maybe the biggest but it's not a measuring contest

im fully aware when his cringe offense takes stage - we all are - multiple announcers calling different games have poetically quivered at the playcall

but we're not doing this today - we didn't witness the jailbreaks today often associated with a qb's bad decision making - and once he lost the game he never fought to get it back

he knew this was a season ending loss and still acted like his nuts were frozen to the porch - because he wouldn't run with the big dogs

never used his legs - had 3 rushes for 15 yards by the time seattle put the game away - dual threat my ass - idk about you but i want a qb who's never scared

Well it was fun while it lasted. Probably only 1 more win coming, likely 2 at the most. I think the win is either against Carolina or the Patriots, but I don’t know that it will be both. Unfortunately I think SF & LA get their revenge. That would mean a 1-6 or 2-5 finish to the season. Not even mad anymore just sad this is who they are.

kyler murray didn't light it up against the whiners but he did run for 83 yards

he sucked against the lambs too but ran for 59 yards and was able to lean on our defense for the win

but in two games against seattle he ran for 25 yards total! seriously tho 9 yards in the first game and 16 in the second

how is this a petzing thing? if kyler sees a vulnerable defense should he not audible and be off to the races? like he's done before?

This is probably be the best thing to do. But Gannon married himself to Kyler. He would have to turn it around and admit he was wrong. Or that he was wrong about Petzing.
I’m guessing nothing will change.
My problem with JG is why marry yourself to Kyler while deciding Drew Petzing is the guy to lead the way.

Was he such good friends that he overlooked how the Browns had no clue what to do with Deshaun Watson. And I get it that Watson is "washed". However, as hard as its looked for him it also looked that way with Baker. Again a scheme that really only worked when the run and gun OU QB is in a ball control offense.

I was always hopeful (because change) but it was an odd fit. I expected more read option mixed in with under center stuff like in Philly.
Petzing is a 2nd year coordinator. He has zero ability to limit the QB based on what he thinks of him. We aren’t talking about Norv Turner or Mike Martz here.

Petzings scheme sucks and his inability to get the ball in playmakers hands has been happening all season.
I've given my criticisms of Kyler in other threads. But this game was over when Petzing called a run on 2nd and 6 and then "huddled for a schemed up play" on 3rd and 2. It killed the momentum they had when going uptempo. We clearly were tiring them out and allowed them to catch their breath and win the next down.

He played great against the Rams. Are you thinking of the Chargers game? That was a scramble run.

Imo Petzing should have called more Kyler runs the last couple of weeks. Just get them thinking he's going to keep it.

After the criticism for being too conservative last week, did we overcompensate this week?

Look to take more shots early. Higher risk/reward. Got us an early touchdown but then two picks.

I believe he had a perfect passer rating against the Rams?
