Fire Porter, make Gentry interim (most familiar with current roster) and reevaluate the situation at the end of the season.

I am beyond frustrated with the Phoenix Suns right now.

They're not going to fire him until the media leaves from all-star weekend. Assuming they do, of course.

It's so frustrating that we're trying to build a team around Porter's system. Other than Marion wanting out to be "the man" we had good chemistry and could compete. The only change is really Porter, and now we're trading away our core to fit a coach that just friggin' got here and has no record to speak of that shows he knows what he's doing. On top of that, the only thing he's shown is that he can't control his players and is a terrible coach. ARGH!

I didn't know Porter had a system? :)

Also one has to look at who is responsible for making the decisions. That would be Kerr.

main you are so right.but really this all started when sarver bought the team.Kerr is his "yes" man.who would hire a guy who has no GM or ANY front office experience to run they're team

Porter is just an extension of kerr, and kerr of sarver. Kerr chose porter, sarver chose kerr and players that oppose the savakerr regime will be dealt. Porter and perhaps the next coach will be sacrificed to ensure kerr survives as he figures out how to hire a coach and run a team. Thats life in the business world, you protect your boys until you are threatened. Then you jettison your(subordinate) boy, to protect yourself.

I would like to see suns fans boo sarver out of the arena when they salary dump amare for kwame or some other such dreck. But before that, hopefully, stern is booed at the all star game with force.

This is where I think you and some others have it wrong. We shouldn't forget that Sarver had to offer the GM job to Kerr twice over two years before he accepted the position. I think Sarver gave him the job because he trusts him implicitly, and not necessarily because he was a great candidate. If Kerr fires Porter it will be for the good of the team, and I don't think he's worried about hanging on to the GM job because he won't be here once Sarver sells the Suns. (Right?)

In short: Kerr has no real allegiance to Porter other than admitting he made another bad move & costing Sarver money (job safety not a concern), and Kerr really wants to make the team better but has wound up on the wrong side of some risky decisions.

That's just my opinion of course.

David Griffin is an ASU grad, runs the drafts, and is basically the brains (or lack thereof) behind many of the Suns personnel moves. Kerr is the face of that side of the organization but most of what he gets is from Griffin. There's more than enough blame to go around on both Sun Devil and Wildcat alike for this trainwreck.

Sarver better get selling because all parties smell.

These are probably huge issues with the ownership group, they are the earmarks of a terrible GM and cost $$$$. Sarver has to explain to the other partners(and fans) why everything is falling apart, make no mistake about it. Sarver will naturally protect kerr as his choice, he cant admit he screwed up too quickly or he looks like the idiot he is. Kerr likewise will protect porter until it becomes too expensive personally, thats just the way it is in business. Making bad moves and losing millions of dollars on a regular basis is NOT a minor problem, and when sarver feels the pressure enough he will admit his stupid mistake of hiring kerr. This might not happen for YEARS with the banking crisis and all confusing the issue! The ownership group already knows he hired DA as a GM as well, so sarver has made these kinds of stupid decisions in the past, and he must convice that he is not just making them again.

Amare had SIX rebounds...zero assists...zero steals...zero defense.

We should stick Porter and Amare on the same train out of town!

So? What does that have to do with ANYTHING?

They could have both worked at Starbucks--you gonna blame Starbucks because of it? Blaming the UofA for the Suns problems is the height of stupidity.

I don't know, ask Maofanclub

And just to clarify, are you comparing a UofA education to working at Starbucks? alright....:D

You are making no sense at all. You're turning this into a UofA/ASU flame war? Are you kidding?

The state we're in has NOTHING to do with the UofA. Or ASU. Mao was simply pointing out that ASU is also represented in the front office.
