@Hollywood Just saw this on facebook and thought of this thread. IMO even better than a fire charger, as long as there is wind. @BigRedRage check this out too

that would be great on the mogollon rim, always windy as hell when right on the rim. I wonder if it could power more than charging a phone though

I'm not sure.

To charge a phone you've got to have 5v and atleast 1amp or the phone won't even recognize it as a charger. I'm not sure more wind = more power with this thing, but one would think that if you can charge a phone it's enough juice to charge most USB devices like a GPS or LED lanterns/flashlights.

IDK I'll look into it more because it would really come in handy when I'm out camping and shooting photos remotely and need to charge.

And yeah, put this thing on the rim around Woods Canyon lake and you could power a small town. I dont understand why that part of the rim isn't lined with windmills, it's ALWAYS windy there and the scenery is already obstructed by power lines and highways.

That is really cool. I looked (breifly) into wind powered generators and decided that the wind wasnt reliable where I often camp. I didnt see this though.

I also looked into water power which would be the best, imo, because a stream is always running without you doing anything...but then remembered that we live in the middle of the freaking desert and rivers often dont include water.
