DRC has a ton of confidence and a bit of an attitude and when you combine that with Fitz's competitiveness I'm not at all surprised they may have gotten into it. I'm glad he has the best WR's in the NFL to practice against everyday, that's got to help him a ton. It's also good to hear that Fitz has not been walking over him like he does with every other cornerback the league.
Can DRC really be this good????
Yes. Your typical rookie cornerback doesn't perform and put up numbers anywhere close to what DRC did last season. His rookie numbers are eerily familiar to another rookie cornerback's that turned into a pretty decent player that goes by the name of Champ Bailey.
DRC's Regular Season: 43 tackles, 4 INT's, 19 pass deflections, and 1 TD.
C.B.'s Regular Season: 79 tackles, 5 INT's, 17 pass deflections, and 1 TD.
And then Cromartie added 20 tackles, 2 INT's, and 9 pass deflections in the post season. You also have to realize that Champ was thrown in immediately as a starter and I don't believe drc started until around week 8, so his numbers definitely could have been more impressive. Champ murdered him in tackles, but that's an area that he has and will continue to improve on. Coming into the league at 6' 2" and somewhere in the 180lbs range doesn't help much either. Am I saying Cromartie will be as good or better than Bailey? No. But he sure as hell has the natural talent to do so if he continues to bust his ass to be the best player that he can be.
