*yawn* i cannot respect this opinion. just hating.

I don't know about that. Neither Amare or Melo (or Lebron for that matter) should be making any sort of guarantees. If one were to come, it should be from either Duncan or AI since they are the undisputed leaders of the team.

The last man on the bench, no matter how good he is, shouldn't make comments like this. If Amare had opened his mouth, you can be sure I would say something negative about it on here as well.

No one outside of Denver would take Anthony over Stoudemire. That's just common sense.

I will be happy if Amare just ends up being a mix of KARL malone and NIPSY russell.

odd comparison.

melo>big dog
amare>kemp

Odd statement since the point is you are taking a nice, scoring SF over a soon to be dominant PF.

BTW, I'm not sure that Amare is better right now than Kemp.

I do not think that Anthony is better than Robinson. Anthony may be a bit faster but the overall difference is very close to the zero.

I would like to have Carmelo Anthony and Amare Stoudemire on the same TEAM. Since they're not, and they're sure-fire stars at different positions, I think I'll leave the "our young star is better than your young star" stuff to the kiddies.

However, I would much rather start with an All-Star power forward before I add an All-Star guard if I'm building a team. That's just me. As a Suns fan since 1975, I know which one is more difficult to come by.

I'm trying to remember: Did Shaquille O'Neal say, "I have seen the future of the NBA, and his name is Carmelo Anthony"?

why not? i dont see the logic...and no i dont believe that last comment you made.

he is just being confident and speaking his mind. if it bothers some, i respect that and wish it didnt happen but he didnt say anything wrong.

well yeah when you only call melo a "nice scoring SF" and amare "soon to be dominant".

um, what? did you just say glenn robinson is better than melo? maybe i misread it.

and ill take a future superstar over a all star PF. thats just me.

both are great...you guys will take your player. we take ours. no one is changing anyones mind. just be fortunate we each got such a great young player. many teams do not have anything close to it.

you take amare, i take melo. you cannot say you are right and im wrong. you think me taking melo is stupid, and its the same from my side about amare. again, no harm done.

There may be NBA fans crazy enough to take Carmelo Anthony over Amare Stoudemire, but there isn't a single GM who would do it. LeBron James and probably Yao Ming are the only players from the last three drafts who would be taken before Amare Stoudemire if they redrafted today.

Robinson is not as good as Anthony today, but he was every bit as good as him at the start of his career.

Amare Stoudemire will be a superstar or borderline superstar player this season. Anthony will never quite be in that class except for the eyes of the media.

Actually, I emailed him and let him know about the thread since I asked questions specific to him......

He is pretty impartial, and obviously has a good knowledge of not only the game, but the economics of it (like a good amount of us here). Personally, I enjoy his contributions to the board, even if he isn't a suns fan.

I have to disagree here. I think his "contributions" amount to simple trolling, which is totally inappropriate considering this is another team's homer message board.

I can't remember one thing this guy has said that surprised or informed me in the slightest. (Wait, I remember one thing--when he said the Nuggets would overpay for Camby, and then they did. Still, that's the kind of ratio that's barely tolerable from a fellow Suns fan, much less an interloper.) There isn't any point in trying to argue with him, either, since his reading comprehension is so poor.

Even as a troll, he doesn't measure up. I would take slinslin over this guy any day of the week.

im not here to surprise anyone. just talk ball.

and check cambys contract again - we got a steal. (the actual figures came out a couple days ago).

it seems to me that you dont like it when someone says somehting you dont agree with - so youd prefer they just go away so you dont have to read it. even though sometimes its true.

I don't think NugzFan is a troll. He's a Nuggets fan and doesn't pretend to be a Suns fan nor terribly objective.

Amare Stoudemire > Carmelo Anthony.

That isn't even worth discussing. Btw Amare had 14 points in the 2nd scrimmage against New Zealand. Duncan lead the team with 16.

Yes, and he also obsessively covers every post that has any mention of the Nuggets--he draws people in to arguments they don't care to have, then posts over them until they give up in disgust. (What is your definition of a troll?) I mean, look at the thread we're on--does anybody here care much about Carmelo Anthony one way or the other? Why didn't this thread drop into the abyss days ago?

Now, look at the context. Is this board "NBA Talk" or even "Phoenix Suns and the NBA"? No, it's "Phoenix Suns" only. Talking about the other teams at all is inappropriate here (except as they relate to the Suns, of course).

There are plenty of Lakers fans on this site, and they seem to get this--at least, they behave with a lot of restraint. Where's the restraint from NugzTroll? Why are the Nuggets brought up on this board twice as often as the Jazz and Grizzlies combined?

How long do you think a Cowboys fan would be allowed to act like this on the Cardinals board? My guess is he wouldn't make it anywhere near 100 posts.

While I don't necessarily agree with all of NugzFan's opinions I don't see any problem with the way he has acted here.

NugzFan is generally polite and doesn't get into TOO many personal attacks. I'm not quite sure that hijacking threads into a Nuggets discussion is quite my cup of tea, but no worse than another debate over whether D'Antoni is a good coach.

BTW, I think competitor analysis is usefu to a point. A week or so ago I started a thread on the Sonics (on having a fired sale) and a few days later they traded away one of their centers (Calvin Booth). I didn't predict the particular trade (Booth for Fortson), but I did predict the kind of trade. IMHO, since the Suns are shopping for centers, any center that is on the market should be reviewed.

I think he's OK.

I just wonder why he isn't posting on his team's board?

Or does he have that much time on his hands?

I'll tell you one thing Nougat Boy.

Amare sure acts a lot more like a star than your pre-pubescent whiny little b**ch Carmel-o. Man what a dufus, his foot is so firmly lodged in his mouth that Nike had to order him mint flavored high tops.

And there's no way an ALL Star swing is nearly as valuable as an All Star POWER FORWARD.

me saying melo is better than amare is 'drawing people into arguments'?

frankly its obvious you just dont like reading opinions that differ from yours. thats not my fault.

and im sorry i cant visit this board EVERY DAY. you are the one trying to start an argument as far as im concerned.

i am behaving with restraint. i am not a troll. you are the one calling me names...you are the one causing trouble and starting arugments/fights. i ask the question - who really is the troll here?

again i didnt bring up the nuggets and i was invited into this thread. i never bring up the nuggets when they arent part of the discussion. im just here to talk suns/nuggets/nba. thats all.

i do. a few of them. and a warriors board. and a hornets board. and a grizzlies board. and a clippers board. and a jazz board. and about 20 other boards. im not here because its the suns. im here cuz i love the nba.

Jeez

Quit being so whiny. I can see why you're such a Melo fan. The 2 of you seem to be cut from the same log. If you're going to dive bomb another teams board every time your team gets mentioned then you'd better develop a thick skin.

And just for the record Melo is still a pre-pubescent whiny little b**ch with his foot so firmly lodged in his mouth that Nike had to order him mint flavored high tops.

Why are you guys being so hostile to NugzFan - because he has a different opinion than you - sheesh - lay off the guy.

Sides' - you guys continuing to call Melo a bitch when our supposed grounded Superstar is SUSPENDED for his first Olympic Game (I don't care whether it's the actual game or not - it's a game where our country is represented and apparently Amare didn't think of the greatest coaches in the game's meeting was important enough to show up to on time) makes the argument look really foolish. I don't like Amare being lumped in with Lebron and AI - that's just bad news IMO.

I love that AI is already bitching saying it looks bad to have the captain of the team suspended - how can he not see equally that it looks bad for the captain of the team TO BE LATE FOR MEETINGS? Sheesh.
