Lets start off with a quiz.

What do all these guys have in common?

Garrett Gilbert
A.J. McCarron
Landry Jones
Zac Dysert
Brad Sorenson
Dustin Vaughan
Kellen Moore
Scott Tolzien
Sean Renfree
Joe Webb
B.J. Daniels

The most common answer would be they're all qb's and you would be correct.

But besides that?

They are all the 3rd string QB's for teams that are or have a chance to be in the playoffs.

Tell me in your opinion which of these guys would be capable of leading their respective teams to playoff victory or a Super Bowl?

My answer? None of them.

I'm am bummed out by Sunday's trouncing. However, considering what this team has been through I am as proud as any Cardinal team I have ever rooted for.

We will probably be one and done( not conceding anything!) in the playoffs, but the future is truly bright. Looking forward to all our wounded and walking wounded returning next year and a roster that will be jammed pack with depth and another years experience under the BA system.

As highly unlikely as it is, can you imagine if the Cards were to win Sunday and the Rams upset the Seahawks? As crazy as this season has been it would add more to this Cinderella Story than a victory on Sunday would have.

I'm still hoping because hope is free.

Agree. This year's team has much to be proud of. While one-and-done is a real possibility given our QB situation, I think we can still find a way to win on the road against either Carolina or Atlanta. I don't give us much chance against either GB or Seattle, obviously, but a win in Dallas or Detroit wouldn't completely stun me either.

Whatever happens, this has been one of the best teams we've ever had in Arizona.

Go Cards!!!

Yes until we are out of the playoffs I will be rooting for the Cardinals with all my energy. If we lose then onto next year when we will be healthy.

I just would love to see the cards win at least 1 or 2 games in the playoffs. I don't want them to be one and done. They have done so much this year rest a one and done would be hard for us as fans and specifically the card players.

Yeah I wanna' at least beat the NFC South and then take on Dallas or the Seahawks again. It's been a great and fun year!

I agree 100%. It would have been miraculous to beat Seattle with Lindley. The ONLY thing in the Cards favor was that they were at home. I was hopeful but not surprised at the beatdown.

I think the Cards win 1 playoff game with Stanton and then are done. It's still been a tremendous year. Heck, some years, well most years, most of us would have been on our 6-7 mock draft by now and the biggest game we'd be looking forward to in January was the Senior Bowl.

Good post. Your quiz does put things into perspective. I too am very proud of this team and am looking forward to next year and a deep team with not so many injuries.

The next man up thing was a great rallying cry and would have worked all the way to the Super Bowl in my opinion. But next man up does not usually apply in the case of a QB. When Palmer went down the season went with him. It's a real shame. I picked the Cards to win the Super Bowl at the beginning of the season and they were on their way.

Oh well...there will be a next year and there is no way they are going to have to deal with this many injuries two years in a row. Oh wait...it's the Cardinals. As you say: Hope is free.

I was going to say you can have fun with some of their names:

Garrett Gilbert (Gottfried)
Landry (Suds) Jones
Zac (Vacuum) Dysert
Dustin (Vince) Vaughan
Kellen (Roger) Moore
Scott (J. R. R. Tolkien) Tolzien
Joe (Jack) Webb
B.J. (Jack) Daniels

Good post.
