Scoreboard has a list of preseason games... here's our first three. I didn't see any broadcast info... if anyone finds out, I'm sure we'd all be glad to know about it.

Suns at Kings Tue Oct 5th 10:00 ET
Raptors at Suns Wed Oct 6th 10:00 ET
Mavs at Suns Sat. Oct 9th 9:30 ET

It looks like a lot of preseason games this year... I added up 113, which is an average of 7.5 per team. Oh, I guess that is pretty typical...

Isn't the Mavs/Suns game the Indian Wells outdoor game? If so, that is definitely going to be broadcast.

I don't know about local coverage, but nationally the only game currently scheduled is the outdoors game. NBATV's schedule up to October 16th does not list any other Suns pre-season games, but it's possible a game or two will be broadcast after the 16th. Also there's a possibility that they will feature training camp / practice segment from the Suns as they do every year but it's also not listed in the available schedule.

NBATV is doing "Real Training Camp" for these four teams first: Lakers, Knicks, Wizards, and Heat. I don't know if they're doing any more after that this year.

IIRC the Indian Wells game has been cool weather. I would really love some cold weather right now. :D

Usually the Suns have an open scrimmage at UAC. Anybody, know if there is one scheduled this year?

The outdoor game against Dallas (Indian Wells) will be broadcast by TNTPacific 6:30pm local time on the 9th - so says my TV guide.

Looks like NBATV will also broadcast the Suns 6th pre-season game against the Raptors according to the schedule on suns.com. So we'll get to watch two pre-season games. I guess that's better than nothing.

I think the reason why so few pre-season games are shown is because many of them aren't broadcast locally, so NBATV can't pick up the local coverage. And I guess they're not broadcast locally because it costs too much relative to the ratings.

Boy, that loss to the Raptors last night looks pretty ugly...

I think your goign to see alot of ugly from this team this season. Just expect to hear alot of the obligatory "it's early and the season and this team is learning to play together stuff". It will be the defacto excuse.

The one thing that is evident so far is that the Suns are going to have to take more chances with the ball because we probably won't have any inside game at all. You can see that sort of holding true so far with all the turnovers.

Suns haven't played against anyone but each other for a while - they probably forgot what it was like to actually be defended whilst shooting...

The importance some people are putting on these 2 preseason games isn't exactly surprising. Wrong, but not surprising.

Who said they were important? They are just insight to what your going to see this season. By the 2nd preseason game last year, the team looked like it was going to struggle on the boards. By the 2nd preseason game last year the team looked like it was going to turn into a more jump shooting team from the previous.

Those game were not important either but the observations were just as valid.

I think there are a lot of conclusions one can draw simply by looking at this roster. I don't think either preseason game has revealed anything though, other than what we already knew from the roster. The first game, in Sacramento tells us very little because we matched up most of the time with our bench guys versus their starters. The next game was the second night of a back to back that involved traveling to Vancouver to play a Toronto team that had yet to travel for a game.

It has nothing to do with valid observations. It's people basing an entire season on what they've seen so far. That might or might not apply to you, but it IS happening here.

Phoenix Suns fans will have a chance to catch a behind the scenes glimpse of the 2010-11 edition of the Suns when the team hosts its annual Open Practice on Saturday, October 23 at US Airways Center.
The event will begin at 10 a.m. and is open to the public free of charge.
The event will tip-off with entertainment by The Gorilla, Suns Dancers and Verve Sol Patrol, and will be highlighted by a team scrimmage beginning at 11 a.m.
Head Coach Alvin Gentry will run a team scrimmage featuring returning Suns stars Steve Nash, Grant Hill, Jason Richardson, Robin Lopez and Channing Frye, in addition to newcomers Hedo Turkoglu, Josh Childress and Hakim Warrick.
In addition, fans can take advantage of great deals on Suns ticket plans and an exclusive $10 ticket offer for upcoming Suns home games against San Antonio (Nov. 3), Memphis (Nov. 5) and Sacramento (Nov. 12). The offer is valid on select seat locations and will be available at the US Airways Center box office during Suns Open Practice.
The Suns will host the Los Angeles Lakers on Friday, October 29 in the 2010-11 home opener at US Airways Center. Tip-off is set for 7:30 p.m. and can be heard on Sports 620 KTAR.
