Thanks for the thread, Gee. I had just added on to the Jaws thread.

Something else they just played that I LOVED: Fitz speaking, not exact quote:

"I really do like Max. I'm not going to lie. He really has a love for the game that's something special."

I love Max, too, but I'm not sold on him being a started in this league. However, unlike Jaws, I am willing to give him a little more time before I right him completely off.

Interesting...really good that Fitz stood up for Max...he never did this summer for ML and that speaks volumes.

I think Fitz is right. Max has something special about him. He will work like a madman to get it right...you can be assured of that.

I'm with you, Jersey.

I really like the fact that Fitz is standing up for a team-mate, unlike what is going on in the Vikings camp this week. That is a good sign for us as we have had none of that here by the players or coaches.

I absolutely think Fitz and Hall could be a heck of a duo. When Fitz gave Hall his "First TD Ball" last Sunday it was a pretty special moment. Lawdy, I wish Max was 6" taller.

BTW, Doug and Wolf also compared Hall's numbers and Jaws' numbers at this same (early) point in their careers. I didn't catch all of it but it seemed to be a real dig at Jaws.

Interesting. I have always got the impression that Wolf is NOT a Jaws fan.

Personally, I really like Jaws. I think he is a smart guy and, while I don't always agree with what he says, I think he's right more times than not.

Today's show was REAL interesting. Wolf said he was eating with someone (whom he didn't name) last night who said something along the lines of "Wolf, you are just a paid shill for the Cardinals." Wolf was bouncing off the walls defending himself, his honor, Max, and apple pie. It was great. (I love Wolf so I'm prejudiced.) He spent easily 3 minutes of air time and you could hear the steam coming out of his ears.

BTW I ate at Wolf's new restaurant at Desert Ridge last Sat. Pretty good!

Oh, I love Wolf, too. I know some find him hokey, but I really love listening to him.

Been the Wolfley's twice. Liked it each time. Lots of variety and some fun specials during games. Would probably go more often if it was closer to home.

My fiancee prefers listening to the Cards radio announcers over her Colts announcers so much that if the games are on at the same time, she'll listen to the Cards radio feed with me rather than watch her own game :)

It's unfortunate that a team two years past a SB appearance, with two straight NFC West titles, has to endure rookie growing pains. What a waste this season has become. It's great that you like the guy Larry, but I am sure you like plenty of people who can't play QB.

Two things -

1. It's one thing for a QB to have learning-curve issues but a whole other deal if someone who supposedly knows what he's talking about claims that - even if Max had mastered all the mental aspects of the game - he simply doesn't have the physical ability to execute. (That's pretty scary).

But it's not as though Fitz (who's spent every practice-day in the preseason and regular season on the same field as Hall and who, despite not being a QB), doesn't know what he's talking about.

So you have to balance what Jaws says with what knowledgeable guys closer to the situation have to say.

2. Max hasn't been getting it done on the field. It is difficult for us to win with him in there - at least for now (& if Jaws's assessment is accurate, maybe never).

From series to series, quarter to quarter and game to game, Wiz is faced with the dilemma similar to deciding whether (a) you drive 500 miles in the faster car with 2 bald tires or (b) choose the slower car with the rundown battery.

Eh you never know, I've said Max needs more games to prove himself.

The thing is no team as good as us usually trys out that raw of a QB, but if you're going to do it there's a certain way you do it.

You give them some games and you probably are going to lose those games, that's just how it works.

At some point if you really want to give the guy a shot, if your back is that far against the wall then let him start some games and see what's up.

You're looking for how they do from one game to the next and you have to figure on about 4 or 5 ugly games, that's more or less a given.

Well some of us tried to tell people that the Cards were making a huge mistake with all the personnel changes but we were told we were idiots and that the Cards coaches and FO never make a mistake so all the players that were let go obviously sucked and it was addition by subtraction.

Hasn't worked out that way though has it?
