What do you think about Hines Ward 1000-12000-85 2 rings, does he get in?

I would say no. He's in the hall of very good, not the hall of fame in my mind. He had 1 season over 1,200 yards in his career.

His stats are in line with Andre Reed's and he hasn't had any luck getting in.
951 rec 13,198 yards 87 TD's

man...I don't think he deserves to. It's supposed to be the Hall Of Fame, not the Hall of Pretty Good. Six 1,000 yard seasons out of 13 years isn't a HOFer, IMO.

Wouldn't surprise me at all. Albeit not a first balloter. Could take 10 15 years. Another thing that favors Q is his off the field work and character in the community. Ward never did much of that. Hines played till 35 yoa. If Q matches that at the rate he's going will surpass Wards #s

Im not sold on Ward either, but I think the 2 rings and the Super Bowl MVP, are going to separate from guys like Reed, w/ similar numbers. Plus add in him being "the best blocking WR ever" and bonus points with the voters for being a Steeler and I think he gets in. Also a chance to vote in the first Asian-American into the HOF isnt going to hurt his chances w/ guys like Peter King.

I dont about not doing much, all my family in PGH say he's a good dude and does a lot there. Also he does a lot of charity work in Korea.

Ward is known to be a solid citizen off the field... And, Chris Berman and ESPN loved them some Hines Ward!

One of a long list of brilliant Graves' decisions. If MB had dumped him sooner, they'd be years ahead in their rebuilding. Graves always undervalued leadership!

Does this mean you believe Steve Keim is doing a good to great job or Graves was simply that bad?

In the end we all know it's about rings. That's why a guy like Swann got in but in no way deserved it IMO. Carter has none. One more ring may be just what puts him over the top. And 1000 receptions and 13000 yards hardly anything to scoff at. Regardless of today's NFL. Even in a pass happy league Quan still fastest to 200 300 400 500 600 catches etc.... Still #5 in nfl history in average receptions a game etc..... The resume is there IMO.

It's unfair to compare WRs from the 60s and 70s with those who played in the three or four decades after it. The game has changed so much, the stats are almost meaningless when it comes to comparing them. Why would Swann ever remotely have the numbers of a modern day top WR? But for his time, by any measure in the 70s, he was GREAT.

Conversely, you could say Q was misused the first few years of his career until Kurt Warner came along.

Fitz came into the league at age 20 ... Q at 22yrs old.

Misused the first few years of his career when he was getting 100 receptions and 1200 yards? I somehow doubt it.

He may have already done enough. He has something Fitz doesn't a ring and a big time performance In the big game where u come out ahead. He also had a pretty dominant playoff run albeit not as dominant as Fitz's.

Ravens most likely do not make that run last year without Q. He was awesome in the playoffs.

They couldn't be any more opposite... interesting to see their #'s so close...
Boldin is the antithesis of Larry. Larry is the high-flying, strong but graceful WR and Q is the low to the ground, seek and destroy missle...

Can't imagine the two of them coming along with an in his prime Warner and a franchise back to toss into the mix.

That would of truly been unstoppable, you could of fielded some of our worst defenses ever and still won a SB.

By the way it's not even close on who is the better WR.

It's Q by a mile.

Just because of his attitude.

a franchise back like...Adrian Peterson? Sigh...that Cards back to back division title team would have been just as scary as the Warner Rams were.

Hardly a mile, maybe about 100 yards when he walked his selfish butt into the locker room after we won our NFC championship game and his teammate where still on the field celebrating together :)

Heard Sando or some other expert talking about this recently and he said that Fitz has half as many drops as Q does and nearly half as many fumbles too. I'd have to look up their stats to double check, but the expert said since they have kept a stat for drops - there is a huge difference between the two. Basically, he said Fitz doesn't often drop it if he gets his hands on it. Watching Boldin with some drops today reminded me of this convo from the radio.

F Boldin. I hate him now, I don't care what he did for this franchise while he played here. The way he screamed at us after SF won the last game here..... and the fact that he is a Niner. F him. F'n f him.

Other mods, I committed a posting atrocity. It's okay if you ban me.

Still a Q fan, no hard feelings. Not a great game for him yesterday but only targeted 4 times. 2/4 catches.

Hes near the top 10 in playoff production in nfl history now.
