It's a bad movie but it's very good at it. If nothing else, it will give your boys a nice introduction to Queen music if they're not already fans. The last time I watched this movie I was still drinking. I've wondered how it would hold up to a sober viewing. Or maybe I should say alcohol free viewing, no way it would be a sober viewing. It's just too much fun for that. Enjoy!

I still like it. My oldest (7) made me put on my Flash Gordon shirt. He recognized it right away.

They were both confused as to why he wasn't wearing red spandex and running at near lightspeed, though.

LOL. At least they weren't expecting you to don your Commissioner Gordon outfit.

Max Von Sydow in Flash Gordon might just be the most extreme example of a legendary actor appearing in a horrid film. Toshiro Mifune in 1941 might be second. :D

I actually think it did what it set out to do... and for it's time, did it reasonably well. I don't think it was ever supposed to be a dead-serious scifi flick. It was made to be a little campy (which today looks REALLY campy).

I mean, come on, Flash fought Ming's guards while calling out football plays and Dale was cheering on the sidelines. :)

I like this movie. It's fun.
