he can't be more versatile if he can't create for anyone else or play defense at either position, which is why Derozan is a terrible comparison. Derozan at least flashed early playmaking skills and is just a much better athlete who can attack the rim, draw fouls and create for others. Warren doesn't do much of any of that.

And y'all are completely ignoring the fact that Derozan came in as a High Schooler, whereas Warren went to college so Derozan was still in a developmental stage while Warren was a more finished product at year 4.

In regard to versatility, I was referring to Warren being able to play both forward positions. I think Warren can be a good player in his own right. I think the Derozan comparison was interesting by JC but I'm not making it.

As a side note though. Derozan only averaged 1.2 more assists in his 4th season.

But can he really play both positions? He can't guard a chair and he doesn't give you versatility at the 4 being able to stretch the floor. Simply because the team may choose to play him at the 4 doesn't mean he has any business playing it.

If we don't trade him, we can only hope he can play some at the 4. I wouldn't have liked that move with Len or Bender at the 5 but maybe with Ayton we can make it work. Doubtful though. I think Warren gets a bad rap for his defense at the 3 but I just don't see him defending most of the 4's in this league without a real presence down low. And it might be a few years before Ayton becomes that presence.

I'm thinking Warren can play PF because of his rebounding skills and shooting ability. Defense might be an issue so I think he would be a nice backup to Ariza if the Suns give up on Bender and Chriss.

Although it may not count for much, Warren has been looking good shooting the 3 in preseason.

well, if he's finally added range to his game, that would definitely help. but his mid-range game doesn't do much from the 4 spot for me.

Unfortunately, his rebounding "skills" are average at best.

It's been one of my pet projects to see if Warren can play PF but there has always been someone in his way like Markieff, Bender, Chriss, Dudley and Ariza He may not get his chance with the Suns although I hope he gets his chance somewhere.

However, Warren has been playing SF . He may get more rebounding opportunities as a PF. He may get squeezed out of the SF position so he needs to find a home somewhere if he stays with the Suns.

After Manu announced his retirement people on Reddit started talking about how he has the highest winning percentage of any player in NBA history, with at least 1000 games played. The Spurs won 72% of the games he played in over 16 years. They basically averaged 59 wins a season while he was there. Link

Is he top 5 all time in floppers? I know Vlade Divac has to be up there. Who Else?

In order:

Lance Stephenson
James Harden
Lebron James
Chris Paul
Rajon Rondo
Pau Gasol

I have Lance first because his flops are the most egregious, not because he does it most often. The rest are there in order of frequency, IMO.

Of retired players, - Manu, Vlade, Laimbeer, Horry, Reggie Miller and Paul Pierce come to mind.

You guys are missing Marcus Smart. He has some legendary flops.

I thought about putting him on there and really should have. He's the next gen Chris Paul when it comes to acting and eliciting questionable calls from the refs. Also, for retired players, I should have included Danny Fortson. That "push the player away then pull them back into you maneuver" he used 20 times a game on Amare went uncalled almost every time. I think he learned it from Reggie Evans, another name that should be on the list.

I had forgotten how bad pierce was! Chris Paul is a good one as well

Dirk deserves a nod. I think the only reason he doesn't go to the ground after every shot anymore is the wear and tear of getting back up.

He learned that skill from Tom Chambers, who patented the drive-through-the-lane-go-up-get- cleanly-stripped-stumble-to-the-ground-then-slap-the-floor-with-his-fist-flop.

Back then I watched almost every game on radio, I never saw him do that.

I'm trying to discern if this is a joke or not. I'm PRETTY sure it is, forgive me if so... my brains mush right now.

It was my way of saying I had no idea that Chambers flopped a lot. So yeah, an attempt at humor.

Back then I only got to watch the Suns when they played LA teams or were on national TV. But I could pick up KTAR on my car radio so I spent a lot of evenings driving around. Once Barkley got there, the national games increased considerably but I still didn't get a lot of Suns until Game Pass came out sometime in the 90's.
