Last season, the Florida Panthers did something very cool during their Stanley Cup Playoff run.
When the Panthers reached the Eastern Conference Final, the team partnered with a company it had worked with before called Dangers Inc. which provides amazing, unique projection shows to sports teams and venues.
The results were something fans hadn’t seen before in Sunrise, a state-of-the-art pregame show that only added to the excitement of a franchise on its way to winning its first Stanley Cup Championship.
Now for the 2025 Playoffs, the Panthers are bringing the show back to Sunrise.
The crew from Dangers has already installed the hardware inside the arena, and their creative team is currently building the visual content that fans will see on the ice.
That hardware includes 12 different projectors that each put out 32,000 lumens each. They are all controlled by servers and computers that are operated up in the catwalks above the ice at Amerant Bank Arena.
Leading the way creatively for Dangers on this project is Luc Lavergne. He will work closely with the Panthers creative team to help provide a very team-based look and feel to what ends up being the final product. That includes colors, playoff logos and themes.
The Dangers crew then maps out the lines, circles and logos on the ice and get to work overlaying the animation movements that will be used, which is what makes the show on the ice look so cool and three dimensional.
It should all be ready for Florida’s first home game, which will be Game 3 against the Tampa Bay Lightning, set for Saturday at 1 p.m.
Dangers will also be providing their high-quality content for the Colorado Avalanche, Minnesota Wild, Toronto Maple Leafs and yes, the Lightning, as well as the NBA’s Denver Nuggets, who share Ball Arena with the Avalanche.
If last season’s show was any indication, we’re all in for a treat, so make sure to get to your seats early!
