Watching the re-runs of 24/7 (don't know why my DVR didn't record them when they first aired). Deep down I would love to see Ortiz win but I really don't see any way he can. Floyd is just so damn good. Ortiz's story is insane (I would look it up if you don't know it) and he is very likable. If he can land a few punches he has the power to slow Floyd down but Floyd is probably too fast for Ortiz to hit him clean.

Ortiz may win a round or two early... only because Floyd will let him. Ortiz won't land anything significant. I just think Floyd will do what he did with Mosely and let Ortiz blow some early steam, then dominate with his defense and speed.
This won't be close and while Floydwon't knock him out, I can see the fight being stopped due to cuts as I think Floyd will destroy Ortiz's face. Ortiz is way to easy to hit - he'll be target practive for Floyd.

Hopefully, Manny gets past Marquez later this year and maybe, just maybe we'll see Manny and Floyd get it on in 2012...

Since when does Floyd do anything than run around the ring and duck punches?

I'd love to see Ortiz knock him out, but there is too much money to be lost in Pac-May for that to happen. Floyd wins by decision.

I'm not a fan of Mayweather. However, if you think all he does is run around the ring and duck punches, you really don't know boxing...

Alright, maybe I threw around some hyperbole in my previous post...But in the past couple of years, Floyd hasn't been much of an offensive force. Aside from the Hatton KO a couple of years ago, he hasn't done enough damage to get a fight stop due to cuts.

Who has he fought over the last few years that was ever stopped on cuts or was easy to hit? DeLaHoya, Hatton, Marquez and Mosely. He KO'd Hatton and domnated the others... Can't take anything away from him in any of those fights..

No cuts or threats of ending any of those fights. They all went down to the wire and could've gone either way. Mayweather sure as hell wasn't close enough to end any of them by TKO.

Err, what?

You're saying the Marquez and Mosley fights could have gone either way? Did you even see the fights?

That may or may not have been a cheap shot but Mayweather needs to be better than that. I think that was a sucker punch but they called it legal.

Now Mayweather went after Larry Merchant. He better fight Pacquiao now. He wants to be the villain let him be the villain. No more ducking Manny.

Sick of everyone saying Floyd is "ducking" Manny. Manny isn't exactly shouting from the rooftops that he wants to fight Floyd. He's too busy recording albums, running for congress and making terrible movies.

It goes both ways, they are both avoiding eachother and they both need to man up and fight.

If Manny won't step up and agree to some of the drug testing that Floyd wants....I say Floyd v Merchant for the next fight. :D

Manny has agreed to testing. Floyd keeps changing the type of testing he wants. I know both guys are to blame but when one is known for cherry picking his opponents so he can keep his record clean he is going to bear the brunt of the blame.

I never thought I would see something new in Boxing....

Ortiz had that coming to him. Bitching about elbows for weeks, then throwing a malicious head butt, then he showed every up and coming boxer what happens when you don't follow rule #1 in boxing.

Protect yourself at all times.

**** move by Mayweather...

With that being said, Ortiz is a *******. He's lucky he didn't get DQd on that headbutt alone.

yeah... two things about this fight...

1. you can say all day by the letter of the law technically Floyd was in his rights to do what he did... but reality, biggest. cheap shot. ever.

2. Larry merchant is my new favorite interviewer of all time... someone get that guy a TV show!

What I wouldn't give to see him interview Bob Sarver :D

A lot of people either love or hate mayweather..... I think Milgod has this one right.

It was never close and then he got blasted with the dirtiest blow since Tyson bit Holyfileds ear off.
