And Fitz played just as good without Boldin. This is a meaningless, irrelevant argument.

How many times did we hear this when the Cards and Boldin were having contract squabbles.

It's the kind of thinking that has that GAM playing in Baltimore. :(

This was BPA at a position of need all the way. To many times guys were saying we were ok with Dropsy tripsy Doucettt and After thought Roberts trading off as our #2 across from Fitz. Floyd is Legit has speed, is tough and makes all the catches. He will make plays. We drafted a Defensive playmaker last year (some were even saying he should play some more Wr) now we have drafted a Offensive playmaker. There was no Joe Thomas in this draft so go with a playmaker that makes your Qb better. We are going to be tough on both sides of the ball and special teams. The battle will be Skelton or Kolb...best man wins in camp. OL is ok with what they have as long as Beanie is healthy and can run to daylight. Like this pick alot.

After seeing the contracts veteran WRs got in free agency I understand the pick. I thought this was a very deep WR class and there were others players I preferred on the board, but I get it.

We have improved our overall team. With one exception. QB. So we're giving our struggling QBs a better weapon than Drop it Doucet and Roberts. Just like Cleveland is doing for Colt McCoy.

McCown and Leinart had Fitz and Boldin, they were still trash. Derek Anderson, Max Hall and Fitz and Breaston (not elite, but a legit #2) and that corps had some of the worst QB play the league will ever see.

I do think the QB play will be better. Skelton will continue developing, Kolb will be more comfortable in the system and hopefully have no concussion issues, and Ryan Williams will ease the pressure. However I think bolstering the line through adding either DeCastro or Reiff would have made a far bigger impact than upgrading our #2 WR position.

I also think adding Melvin Ingram would have made our defense lethal. We saw what adding Aldon Smith did for the 49ers, Ingram could have done the same thing for us. I don't see Schofield having the impact we're hoping he'd have. He couldn't beat out the corpse of Joey Porter, rookie Sam Acho, or Clark Haggans who was near the end of his career.
