LJ Shelton, Levar Fisher, Marcus Bell and several others were sent home with flu symptoms. When I talked to Mac, he was snuffling and swallowing too.

I think seven players were missing with flu problems. Pete Kendall and Justin Lucas were missing with injuries and declared out for this game.

No changes in personnel are planned, other than putting McCown at QB, backed up by Jeff Blake, unless injuries force more changes.

Frank Garcia will play center.

One particular line has me laughing hysterically.

I hope their moms are making them eat plenty of chicken noodle soup and are giving them all robitussin.

Why no more changes? Why the hell aren't we trying to evaluate personnel, see if backups can play? Why do I even ask? Mac doesn't seem to give a damn, and wants to do everything in his power to win, including hurting the franchise. Earth to Mac...WE AIN'T GONNA WIN!!! Just do what's good for this team and put other players in. Aaaaaaaaargh!

Earlier in the week I heard the players who missed the game with the flu being ripped on the radio...it was like: come on...its the NFL - you do not miss games with the Flu. While I agree in theory that they should be able to tough it out...I was glad they did not play. Why? The would have probably given it to 10 other guys - so if you play the 2 guys who are sick - you will probably lose more guys down the road. Plus...I would not want the sick players flying to an away game - alot of colds are picked up on airplanes...

When people have a cold or something - you should go home and not go to work - you are just passing germs to everyone else - and then everyone will be sick! Sounds like that is what is happening to the Cardinals...

Stout, pray LJ can play. If not, Reggie Wells' first NFL start will be to battle the best DE in football. McCown could get killed.

That's why we should have gotten rid on TJ sooner. He passed his suckiness to everyone else.

Mike Rucker? Peppers will go against LJ....Peppers and his 3 sacks on the year.

Peppers plays on the left of their line, our right. That means Pepper vs. Clement and Rucker vs. Shelton.

I think seven players were missing

As opposed to the 50 who were missing last Sunday?

I didn't mean for Wells to start over Shelton...how about Wells instead of Clement? I think many of us could agree on that one. How about popping Hayes into the starting lineup if he's healthy? Maybe give Anderson some PT? Get Roundtree in the game?

Peppers who was suspended for 4 games last year for using unspecified banned substances. HGH? Maybe he doesn't play as well without it ? How does one get Rook of the Year and get suspended? Must be the NFL hypocrisy rule.

"The illness is not the flu, and it usually takes three to four days to run its course, team physician Wayne Kuhl said."
The difference between a bad cold and the flu is that (a) the bad cold usually comes on gradually whereas the flu hits you suddenly like a freight train and (b) you tend to run a higher fever with the flu than you do a bad cold. (& after the flu, you ache like a truck hit you). The flu and most colds are caused by viruses- so antibiotics are useless against either.

But it does beg the question - Has the Cardinal medical staff innoculated every player against the flu? It's reported to be pretty prevalent in the Western US. (I sure hope so. That's one of those small details which, if not dealt with, could cost a (typical) team a win).

Jeff, flu shots are just about useless. Granted, if you're exposed to one of the several types of flu it innoculates you against, you stand a better chance of not getting it. Two problems: This year, supposedly, the medical world messed up and didn't innoculate against the worst flu strain. Also, there are thousands, even millions of strains of flu out there...and people get innoculated against a few. Not much good, IMO.

Not HGH it was a legal supplement that contained Ephedra which the NFL banned because of health concerns over it from Korey Stringer.

Peppers is seeing a lot of doubles this year from what I've read, Jenkins in particular says that Julius drawing doubles has a lot to do with the play of himself and Rucker. I haven't seen them play a lot but he claimed teams are routinely using their TE or their FB to help on Peppers.

It's actually getting to be routine for teams to get more sacks from the LDE than the RDE so the Panthers are one of the few teams bucking that trend. Something like 5 of the top 6 in sacks this year play on the left side where they get RT's instead of LT's.

If these players have what I have, I got sick (fever/major aches...my boys were sick as was my wife) Saturday and I am in the final congestion stage today. I actually picked the fever back up last night before bedtime too. It lingers.

Actually, I didn't. I only got to listen to a part of the game...missed the beginning from a scheduling conflict, and tuned out the end. Thanks for the info, man!

Levar Woods didn't get the start? Or was he sick? I thought he was slated to take it.
