I found it extremely interesting and for me it does appear that there is at least some relation especially at certain positions that the Wonderlic score does impact how well a player may play at that particular position.

Good read, thanks for sharing. Most interesting to me was that some executives felt that a super-high Wonderlic score might mean that you're too "institutionalized" to read and react on the fly in game-time situations. Sort of like people who can ace tests but have no common sense whatsoever and an inability to improvise. Too low (for your position) and you're considered too dumb or to have bad study habits. Pretty interesting.

"There are “situations that come up in every game: a third down and one in the fourth quarter or a third down in the red zone to force a field goal,” he told me. “Offensive coördinators usually have a couple of calls they feel they can win these situations with. They won’t run the play the same as you’ve seen it [on film], so being able to decipher a shift or a motion or a change in personnel is usually necessary. The smart players can do that consistently.”

Difference between classical musician and jazz musician. Both likely have a high level of skill. One of them is more likely to be adaptable than the other.
