The Suns saying they have "interest" in Shawn Marion is the same as when they said they had "interest" in Garnett.

That is, theres no way in hell theyre going to make a move because it will cost them MONEY. However, they cant say that. So the "yes-man" Steve Kerr tells local sports personalities that the Suns have "interest", and then lets the fans come to their own conclusions as to why nothing happened.

"The Suns tried. We know they had interest. They just couldnt get a deal done."

- Suns Fan

Its the same with Lamar Odom, Antonio McDyess, or even Channing Frye.

If the Suns had any real "interest" in improving the team, they would have traded Wallace for Chandler by now. And they wouldnt have agreed in principle to trade Amare freaking Stoudemire to GS for scraps and a draft pick.

So forget about Marion. Its a pipe dream and he'll end up on a team that is actually concerned about winning right now.

I understand the Mavericks are trying to get Marion by sending Toronto Stackhouse who has a $2M buyout provision on a $7M salary. The Suns have almost a similar type player in Pavlovic although I think his salary is in the 6M dollar range with a $1.6M dollar buyout. Some teams try to do something, other teams don't. It wouldn't even have to be Marion the Suns go after. I hope the savings on Wallace and Pavlovic the Suns get does not just go into the Suns piggy bank and none is spent on players.

I believe him.

Right, but there has to be something to sweeten the deal, or else there's no incentive for Toronto at all. Since the Suns can't trade a first-round draft pick before 2012, they're at a huge disadvantage in any bidding war.

He's been so spot on as of late, there's no chance that he's wrong on this one.

funny how everyone is back on the marion bandwagon, its like people want to see us make a move just for the sake of doing it when in reality it would set us back 3 more years.

Im all for offering Joe a MAX OFFER when he becomes a free-agent next season.

Think about it:

Joe, Nash, Amare, Trix!!!

We have to somehow swing a trade for Q and we'll be set.

Umm, they were going to get Garnett until your boy Marion told Boston there was no way he'd sign an extension.

How do you know the Suns are advancing to even be set back?

I'm wondering if the Suns FO even have a direction. IMO, it seems like the Suns are lowering debt like a financial asset ready to be sold.
