Gambo just mentioned five names that he believes the Cardinals will show interest in FA:

- ILB Corey Littleton
- DE/DT Michael Brockers
- RB Carlos Hyde (if no Drake)
- OT George Fant
- DE/DT Rodney Gunter

If this is accurate, what an underwhelming, POS list outside of possibly Littleton and Gunter

According to OvertheCap, We're currently 20th in the NFL in cap space. People who were expecting a bounty in free agency were always going to be disappointed.

I anticipated something like this.

Not very enthused about Hyde or Fant in that list, but the rest I'm fine with. I wonder what the plan for Fant would really be. RT? He's played LT before...

i heard this on the drive home, nearly caused an issue on the 51 when i heard George Fant. really??

not a fan of Brockers -- a guy between Aaron Donald and Dante Fowler ought to have produced more.

They need to add one more top level FA to that list, or it's horribly underwhelming. You add in a trade for Diggs, or signing Bud Dupree and I would be ok with it based on what we have to spend

Yeah, Fant’s only claim to fame is being announced as an eligible receiver on every freaking down for Seattle.

Littleton is the only one I can get somewhat excited about, but he’s going to be expensive. You just don’t spend big $$$ on ILB and they already did last year.

Judging by the proceeding comments, yeah people were expecting too much.

If the Cardinals signed that haul, I think the team could take a jump forward.

In 2019, Judon played 36 snaps as a standup LB, while he played 619 snaps as an Edge defender. The gray area is defining an OLB vs. DE role within those Edge snaps.

The DE franchise tag projects to be worth $3M than the LB tag.

the Ravens are described by many to be a model franchise and having a team culture to aspire to

but they are also ruthless as it relates to managing the cap etc ---

a clip and save kinda thing for the next time the Cards take a salary cap position that upsets a player

My free agent list - based on talented bargains.

You will not see Chris Jones or Clowney on the list. Diggs and Calais are at the top of my list if we are talking trades.

These are guys that I think can be productive starters and will not break the bank:

Defense
Carl Nassib - DE/OLB
Derek Wolfe - DE
Nick Kwiatkoski - LB
Jamie Collins - LB
Kamalei Correa - LB
Kyler Fackrell - LB

Offense
First option for me is to sign Drake but if not:
Kareem Hunt - RB (RFA - will see what the tender is soon)
Melvin Gordon -RB (his price will come way down IMO)
D'Andre Washignton - RB (complimentary piece if we keep DJ or draft a rookie)
Breshard Perriman -WR (moot point when we trade for Diggs :))
Eric Ebron - TE
Marcus Gilbert - RT (insurance for RT if needed)
Cordy Glenn - RT (could be starter at RT)

I just hope that the NFL doesn't delay the start of free agency because of the Coronavirus. We all need to have some sports talk to get into besides cancellations. Contracts can be negotiated and agreed upon pending passing a physical at a later date.

hadnt thought about that bolded part

it rare, but you do hear about deals (trades typically) falling apart when a guy fails a physical

Couple of very interesting names. First off, no to Diggs. No to Calais. As much as I like him he will want too much money.

I love Kwiatkowski. The name that really intrigued me is Carl Nassib. He’s 6’7” who appears to play DE but can at times move to OLB and he’s just 27 years old. It appears these two players are primed to take the next step. They would both fill a need.

We need to get younger. I can live with signing a guy like Gilbert on the cheap for insurance. But overall I don’t want plug in for one year guys.

I love Drake. But he has to play fair with us. Just about Every mock draft I’ve seen shows very good running backs available in round 3. If what we hear about rb’s being devalued then it’s very possible players like Swift, Dobbins, Taylor, Helaire and Akers will be there in the 2nd , 3rd and even 4th round.

We need to get younger.

My thought process on defense is that we have a young secondary (except for PP21) and a young DL (outside of Peters). A veteran DE would solidify the DL while we develop guys like Allen/Dogbe.

We need to fill 2 LB spots (OLB and ILB). Based on what we are paying/going to pay Chandler Jones and PP21, we need some value at those spots (ideally we would have players to develop as well).

When I say get younger I totally agree with what you’re saying. But guys like Kwiatkowski and Nassib have both played for four years now. I just don’t want to see another Suggs type signing.

Former #Titans and #Eagles G Chance Warmack is aiming at a comeback after sitting out last season. The former first-round pick, who turns 29 in September, has visits lined up with teams once facilities reopen. Has hired a new agent in Ron Slavin of
