A former Alabama basketball big man is back in the transfer portal.
South Carolina forward Nick Pringle told On3 he would enter the transfer portal after one season with the Gamecocks.
After starting his collegiate career at Wofford, Pringle spent two seasons at Alabama, playing in 70 games, primarily as a bench player, from 2022-24. In 13.1 minutes per game, Pringle averaged 5.1 points and 4.1 rebounds per game.
In one season with South Carolina, Pringle started all 32 games and averaged 9.5 points and 6.3 rebounds per game, shooting 57.2% from the field.
"He [Pringle] was great for us in the Final Four run," Oats said before Alabama played South Carolina in January. "Had a lot of great games for us over two years."
In South Carolina's 88-68 loss to Alabama Jan. 8, Pringle had 13 points and six rebounds in 25 minutes, hitting four-of-six attempts from the field, while also having three fouls and three turnovers.
Alabama will play BYU in the Sweet 16 at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey Thursday at 6:09 p.m. CT. The game will be broadcast on CBS.
