Yep that's what my comment was about. He was in the NFL earning good money and wasn't paying child support and even claimed the kid wasn't his to try and get out of it, paternity tests proved he was. That story didn't go public until after he left the Cardinals but my understanding is it played a role in why he was no longer a Cardinal because the Bidwill family did not like that they were having to garnish pay of at one point their starting QB because he wasn't paying child support.

I would hope by now that's all paid off

I never heard that story. What a POS...and that's a much more legit reason to dislike someone, instead of their completion %.

Yeah he and his HS girlfriend got pregnant, he went off to college, she never asked for child support. he got to the NFL so she asked for child support and back support. Which IMO is totally normal, he was a college student he couldn't afford child support but as soon as he could, she had a perfect right to ask for it including back support. He apparently fought it for several years finally the paternity test proved it. He was on the Bengals(?) when the story finally went public but it talked about how the Cards had been docking his pay because of it and the way it was worded you just knew they weren't happy about it.

I hope he has and he was very young when his GF got pregnant(it was a girl), they were in HS. But he was in the NFL in his 20's and still ducking child support when I heard that story it really made me glad he was not a Cardinal anymore.

Yeah his campaign page only mentions his 7-year-old son. No mention of his daughter who would be much older than seven now. He's a douche canoe.

I had forgotten the details and that's what REALLY bugged me about it. The child support lien was in 2010, they were still fighting it in 2013. The link there says the Cards were docking his pay 267 a month and after the court ruled in the moms favor that went up to 2000 a month. So an NFL QB was refusing to pay 267 a month! Google says he signed a 4 year 1.97 million deal with us 182K signing bonus. I know he was with the Bengals when this story broke so he was presumably on a new contract then. So he wasn't getting millions per year but still he could clearly afford the money and if his issue was he wasn't sure he was the father why wait so long for a paternity test?
