Former Boston Celtics forward Oshae Brissett is signing with the Philadelphia 76ers, according to the Philadelphia Inquirer's Keith Pompey. Brissett spent the 2024-25 season with the Celtics, helping Boston capture an 18th championship.

Pompey reported Brissett is signing a 10-day contract. The Sixers were granted a hardship exception by the league because of the team's bloated injury report. Philadelphia is 22-43 at the time of this writing, the product of a regular season marred by poor player health. The Sixers are unlikely to qualify for the playin tournament, and are considering shutting down stars like Paul George for the remainder of the season. Philadelphia once again is slated to be shorthanded this weekend, with a home game against the Pacers this Friday.

This could be an opportunity for Brissett. The 26-year-old has been with the Long Island Nets in the G League since January. An admirable stint with the Sixers could help him capture the attention of scouts around the NBA with the offseason a few weeks away.

Brissett appeared in 55 games with the Celtics a year ago. He averaged 3.7 points and 2.9 rebounds per game while playing 11.5 minutes a night. The Canadian has also spent time with the Indiana Pacers, and was with current sixers head coach Nick Nurse as a member of the Toronto Raptors during his rookie season in 2019-20.
