Now former Indianapolis Colts' linebacker EJ Speed posted his goodbye to the team and fans on social media on Saturday.

It was reported earlier that day that Speed--a free agent--was signing a one-year deal worth $5 million with the Houston Texans.

Speed was a fifth-round pick by the Colts in the 2019 NFL draft out of Tarleton State, and had spent his entire career with the team up until this point.

He got his start as a core special teams contributor, but moved into a starting defensive role during the 2023 season and started alongside Zaire Franklin throughout the 2024 season.

Speed would go on to total 131 tackles last season, according to PFF. He also had three pass breakups in coverage and recorded his first career interception.

On the to-do list for the Colts with the NFL draft approaching is bolstering the depth at linebacker, along with finding a new starter to lineup next to Franklin.
