According to the press release, Blackmon is expected to be added to the Ring of Honor inside Boone Pickens Stadium on November 15 when Oklahoma State hosts Kansas State.

Blackmon, 35, was originally drafted by the Jaguars with the fifth-overall pick in the 2012 NFL Draft. He played just two seasons in Jacksonville before being suspended indefinitely by the league. He did not play another down in the NFL after being placed on the suspended list during the 2023 season.

During his brief time in Jacksonville, Blackmon showcased his immense talent, at times taking over games for the Jaguars. In 20 games he appeared in, Blackmon caught 93 passes for 1,280 yards and six touchdowns. His only full season came in 2012 when he caught 64 passes for 865 yards and five touchdowns.

During his collegiate years, Blackmon was one of the NCAA's best football players, earning the Fred Biletnikoff Award twice (2010, 2011), given to the nation's top wide receiver. He also won the Paul Warfield Trophy twice, given to the nation's top receiver. He was named a Unanimous All-American in both 2010 and 2011.

During his time at Oklahoma State, Blackmon dominated the competition, catching 253 passes for 3,564 yards and 40 touchdowns over 38 games. During Blackmon's sophomore and junior seasons, he caught 233 passes for 3,304 yards and 38 touchdowns in 25 games.

Blackmon was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame last year. He joins Thurman Thomas, Barry Sanders, Bob Fenimore, Terry Mioller and Leslie O'Neal as members of the Cowboy Football Ring of Honor.
