I was surprised by the Broncos letting Fox go.

but why does it remind you of whiz firing?

Whiz was on a major downward spiral, its more reminiscent of firing Schottenheimer in SD than it is of Whiz.

Firing Fox after 4 consecutive division titles and a Super Bowl appearance is a pretty bold move.

Elway pasted a smiley face on everything at his presser today. Still planning to load up for a Super Bowl run next year and expects Manning back.

Cited a disagreement on what it will take to get to the "next level" as the cause for firing Fox.

I'm guessing coaching candidates that tell him Manning is toast and it could take years to come up with top tier quarterback aren't going to jump to the top of the list in Denver.

weird situation to be interviewing when you have a lame duck QB that the entire franchise is built around

Absofreakinlutely. It could be a 2yr & done deal real quick. I still got a feeling Manning is done healthy or not healthy.

We all know who the OC in Denver is.

I hope he comes back and breaks Brett Favre's career yardage record. I don't believe all this father time has caught up with him talk, he had his 2nd highest yardage total, a career season for most NFL QBs. He couldn't have dropped off that quickly. I think injuries and the long season took its toll, but that he could have more success at least early in the year next yr.

Always thought Fox was overrated as a HC. Never had his team ready to play in big games. With the talent that the Broncos had, I could have led them to Divisional crowns! Agree with the firing. I never liked Elway, but he seems to be a solid executive.
