Just saw this this morning:

According to John Czarnecki, of FOXSports.com, the rumors continue to fly that Arizona Cardinals head coach Dennis Green is looking to reach a contract settlement on his final three seasons in order not to return next season

That sucks. If this is true, I'm suddenly very squarely in the "I hate Green" camp.

It wouldnt suprise me if this happened in some form.
Green may be able to make an 7-9 team better but thiis challenge appears to be to much for him to handle.
And his ego wont let him go down with the Ship ( pun intended).
Clancy get ready, youre about to be thrown under the bus.

Here's the whole thing, from Fox Insider's Everything you need to know about week 11:

GAME: Arizona at St. Louis, 1 p.m. ET

WHAT TO WATCH FOR: The Rams are in turmoil, especially after an offensive veteran ripped the club's top three defensive tackles for shoddy play this season in Sports Illustrated. The facts are that DT Jimmy Kennedy was benched for this game; so maybe interim head coach Joe Vitt is reading the press clippings. The Cardinals will be minus LB Karlos Dansby (rookie Darryl Blackstock replaces him). The Rams plan to come out running with Steven Jackson, hoping to get a lead and then not have to worry about former Ram Kurt Warner picking their secondary apart. Ron Bartell starts for RCB Travis Fisher. Bartell could have his hands full with Anquan Boldin.

CZAR'S SCOOP: Fighting was taken to a new level this week in St. Louis when running backs coach Wilbert Montgomery landed an over-hand right against offensive coordinator Steve Fairchild during 9-on-7 drills at Rams Park on Wednesday. Montgomery apparently was upset that Fairchild wasn't following head coach Mike Martz's orders to run more this week. Martz visited with the offensive coaches during their Tuesday game-plan meeting and made such a suggestion. Montgomery is loyal to Martz on this divided coaching staff. And Martz apparently is upset with Fairchild, one of his former quarterbacks who he elevated to his current position. You can bet if Martz is working elsewhere next season as a head coach that Fairchild will be the last assistant he will hire. The rumors continue to fly that Arizona coach Denny Green is looking to reach a contract settlement on his final three seasons in order not to return next season.

If he bails on this team, the hate I would have for him would rival only Simeon Rice and the Dallas Cowboys

We better not promote Clancy to head coach or any of our coordinators or assistants if this is true.

Herm Edwards.

Only reason the jets stink is because Pennington never panned out due to injuries.

The rumors continue to fly that Arizona coach Denny Green is looking to reach a contract EXTENSION on his final three seasons in order to return next season as both Coach and GM.

Source of original rumor: A couple of beers and a fast approaching deadline.

Source of new rumor: A couple of beers and an aversion to un-sourced rumors. :D

We haven't had a lot of success with coaches with Chicago ties, but I'd be okay with the move if no veteran coaches seemed to be available/want the job.

But, I'd really like to see the Bidwills make a run at Gary Kubiak. :brokenrecord:

Jim Johnson Eagles D coordinator.

He was the runner up to DG when DG took the job.

Should have been him from the beginning.

JMHO and it's a broken record too.

I thought he said he wasn't leaving the Eagles when he was asked about HC positions that year.

Maybe it's changed now, but at the time he basically turned us down, I thought.

This doesn't make sense. Denny could quit at the end of the season which means he would not get paid for the remaining two years on his contract. If he wants a settlement that means he wants the Cards to pay him money for breaking his contract early. Perhaps he is getting a message from the Bidwills that they are unhappy with him and want him out.

He now gets head coaching money as a def coord why would he leave?

draft Leinhart at all cost's and bring in Pete Carroll!!!

You bet!!! I have been thinking over the last couple of weeks when Green is questioning himself in interviews. The guy's not up to the task. He's been sounding like a quitter for awhile now. I think it again shows it's tough be a coach/GM in this new era of football. Let's be honest, Green is pulling the strings. I believe Holmgren's situation has proven that.

BS report.

If true local media(radio) would have been all over it a week ago.

I don't believe this for a second.

Well maybe I believed for a second, but not anymore, which means it is probably true.

Why wait till the end of the season? Seriously, this mentality of I DONT WANT TO BE HERE pisses me off, whether it be players or coaches, and frankly if Denny is that hell bent on getting out, then frankly don't let the door hit you on the way out. What's the worst that can happen? They name Pendergast interim coach, completely stink it up worse and wind up with the top pick in the draft, which gives them a chance to draft Leinart?

I'm taking this with a grain of salt as is. I'd LIKE to see Denny turn this around, but if he wants to go, but frankly if this proves true then as I said don't let the door hit ya on the way out.
