Nothing! They suck.
Ouch dude!
I think we've had a couple of really good seasons recently, Seahawks game not withstanding. Loomis and Payton clearly have a plan to compete during this small window of Brees' remaining prime years.
What have we done in the off season? Well we signed a couple of top-10 DTs against the run in Shaun Rogers and Aubrayo Franklin to pair with Ellis. Signed Darren Sproles to replace the loss of Bush.
Had by almost all accounts a stellar draft highlighted by the addition of Cam Jordan, Mark Ingram, and Martez Wilson.
Signed our own key free agents in Roman Harper, Lance Moore, Jermon Bushrod, David Thomas, and Pierre Thomas. I know re-signing your own guys may not be considered a big deal, but when you've been a perennial loser like the Saints have, watching your FAs re-sign instead of bolting for greener pastures is almost unbelievable. The atmosphere and culture change of my Saints since 2006 has been nothing short of remarkable honestly.
Also we've been working extremely hard to shore up our Special Teams play because that's been our weakest point over the last couple of seasons. Seems like we were always giving a team a short field after punts or kick-offs. The safety we got in the Bush trade lead the Finns in ST tackles. You'll probably see Sproles returning a lot of kicks for us this year as well.
We may not have had the splashy moves of the Eagles or Patriots, but I fully expect a successful season with a good play-off run. I think the NFC South is the toughest division in the NFC this year. Hell, maybe we'll cannibalize ourselves like the SEC does in NCAA football. Regardless, I hope to see you guys in the post season again, and I hope Kolb brings you a ton of success.
